      Julie Kong:
Can anyone recommend good creative writing class in Bukit Timah area for Pri 4 &5? They are generally quite good in their English but I want to \"buy insurance\" for their creative writing. Super KS but I am very stressed up for their PSLE!

There are a few schools in that area. But the one I'm familiar with is 'the alternative story'. Big class size, young teachers (local) with emphasis on creative writing. They have a place in Bt timah area.

A few tips to get A* for creative writing, based on my 16 yrs with kids.

          1. Right story structure (Hook, Settings, incident, Development, Climax & outcome)
          2. At least 3 excellent phrases per paragraphs.
          3. Check each paragraph with minimum grammar mistakes.
          4. Maintain a book of excellent phrases
          5. Writing one paragraph each day after reading of story books.

Parents may use the Budding Writers League (BWL) platform to post their own/ their children's work and receive critiques from writers in the league. At the same time, read some of the interesting articles posted by our writers on our website.

There are also monthly workshops for all parents and students. They are all free as BWL is a non-profit organisation supported by National Arts Council and a partner of National Library Board. Feel free to inform your friends and join us at our workshops.

            The event for April:

                1. How do we find out the details of the monthly workshop - couldn't locate it on the website.

                2. How do we post own/children's work - couldn't find the details as well.

                Thanks!

Hi! I am a new comer. I live in Jurong East? I want to find a tuition center or a tutor for my P4 boy.

                    Any good suggestion?

                    Thx

Have you tried Lisa Tan’s centre? I think it is calling The Write Place. But I know they are usually quite fully packed.
