Are you happy you have been heard by MOE...

Being heard is insufficient. There should be action done.
At least, I hope teachers are genuinely teaching and not leaving that to tutors. What about installing CCTV in classrooms or having officers sitting at back of class ? I remember having minister coming to our classroom on adhoc. Once, the education minister came into the ‘kitchen’ while home economics class was going on. -

No, this point is more linked to the rights of being a citizen like the P1 registration priority. Not so complicated. It seems that MOE is trying to address the difference in being a citizen and a non-citizen first as the general sentiments outside education issues are not so pleasant regarding this. They have not reached the issue on \"tuition nation\" yet..
Wait. Was this really what ksp parents were clamouring for? How is it going to benefit Singaporean kids if their non-Sg classmates will now pay higher fees? Is there any promise that the higher fees collected will be used to bring in more teachers/teacher-training/extra coaching for exams etc.?ksi:

There is action on this citizen and non-citizen disparity... other issues, think we have to wait patiently lor...Being heard is insufficient. There should be action done.

Regarding this CCTV thing, it will cost them too much. Having officers sitting at the back of the class is doable. In our school, if any negative feedback is given for class conduct or teacher's conduct, our VP will sit-in and do an observation class. -
We can definitely have VP sitting in as and when. But VP and teacher belong to same school…may still side their own. It will be better to have someone from MOE. No advance notice should be given to the particular class(es) on that day. People sitting up there should be aware of what is going on on ground level.

Wish they could give free school uniforms out and free textbooks too.

True, but the thing is if a VP has decided to sit in, it would have put the teacher on the toes, so it will still be a win-win-win-win for all. MOE has inspectors visit for general things in school, not so teacher-specific. I suppose if MOE has a programme like \"Grooming ace teachers to nurture star students\", then putting officers into schools regularly would appear more seamless and has a more positive vibe to assist the teachers than the undesirable fear-planting vibes. -

For all or for specific group of kids?
Actually for a specific group of kids, every year we donate old but good condition uniforms and similarly for textbooks to help those less fortunate kids in our school. -

No use free textbooks. We want free assessment books. -

With P1 registration priority, I totally understand and agree with the changes. But with the fees, there appears to be no direct benefit to Sg children. Are you honestly feeling better/happier after reading this news? Not me.
