      Hi Brenda10,

I agree, the neighbourhood's schools' papers are getting harder
and I am not sure how to help..was thinking that neighbourhood
school not so stressful but now they are also getting very stressful 😢
      Hi Big Dad

As such, I am very concern over the maths especially next year will be PSLE.

          Hi Brenda10 and verykiasu2010,

I agree with you but the teachers in school sometimes do not get them ready for such a difficult paper..or maybe they do not have the time I dont know so have to supplement with tuition then tuition also the teachers go very fast cos so many things to cover I dont know if it is the teachers or is it that the psle maths is just too difficult..even at p2 the papers are getting harder I thought p2 is more to learn and still have fun exploring?

How do you cope and help your child with this or maybe your children are already very good with maths? I need help :?:

if you find P2 math difficult, you really need help, else will be too late

find some tuition centre that does it in small group, not more than 5 persons, so that some individual attention is possible

              Hi BigDad

I can understand the anxious especially when the child is at P5.

At this moment my child does not have any tuition except practicing on those past year papers. If there is any problem I would refer some of the Maths assessment books for similar example and she will try to follow step by step to resolve it. If we cannot find any similar example then no choice would have to seek for help.

However, we may consider the need of the tuition after the SA2 score in order to prepare for next year PSLE.

              Hope the above information useful.

                Hi verykiasu2010,

I find it very hard to make it easy for him to understand..do you have any place to recommend that can help kids like that.

                  Hi Brenda10,

Thanks for your understanding, it is scary when I see primary 2 maths getting more difficult for him..how to help..I know it is easy for those who are good but those who are borderline..it also seems like a lot of the good tuition places focus on good students, are there those that can really help the weak ones? Was your child all along good?

Maths in primary school is getting tough now, and gets tougher along the way. There were times I sat in the room while hubby teaches son and I've no idea what they were talking about

Son is in P4 this year...neighbour told me it will be worse at P5. Asked hubby if he is able to continue coaching son next yr and he told me he can.

I've bought Math models for my daughter going P1...Li Fang Lan and Simon Eio (since Fabian Ng doesn't have P1). Also coaching her in multiplication tables.

                        Hi Big Dad,

Yes, I faint when I see my son's Maths textbook too :dowan:
So that's one area I do not want to touch other than looking at content page to plan his revision time-table.

For Math, there is Li Fang Lan, Simon Eio (popular for his Step-by-Step), Henry Lee & Dawn Tai (Challenging Math).

I get Step-by-Step every year. 'Score in Math' is not so tough and there are 3 levels of difficulties.
