Kelvin Ong said the case was closed. How can it be closed before he is punished for his wrongdoing?
will he be charged in court and go jail for cheating - to serve as a stern deterance warning against future potential cheaters, another future Kelvin Ong (be it GEP Education service provider or otherwise) ?
under Education commercial business Act :-
is there any clause that state if any business owner is caught cheating with serious Integrity issue(s), will go jail ? -
My perspective is that he needs to be punished somehow, otherwise there will be another Pelvin Rong, another Lelvin Mong, etc, etc⦠after they cheat the parents (or consumers) for xx years and earn big bucks, become rich, then they say "the case is closed", and go unpunished.
If this is so, there will be many of these "cheaters". -
Yes, then thereβll be many conmen / conwomen cheaters as Education Service providers, con gullible parents. Today may be GEP, tomorrow may be something else.

:rahrah: That is why I have never believed in brain training programme if they claim they can make kids smart. This episode does reflect the dangers of commercialisation of education. As an individual, I have never trusted any service provider that claims to make my children geniuses, or to get them to succeed with the GEP entry exams. And as for those that advertise their students' success rates, what I would like to see is what the same students were scoring BEFORE getting into the course.
Real educators passionate about teaching will accept the worst students because they can make the biggest difference in their lives. Commercially-oriented educators will choose the best students because it allows them to achieve the \"best results\" without too much effort.
limlim will be applauding the statement \"dangers of commercialisation of education\" as he is against education being so commercialised. -

Every system will be subjected to the \"abuse\" of its intent and loopholes will be tapped as long as \"kiasu\" continues to be a dominant mindset.
I believe d true intent of DSA was to match-make students & schools for real talents. How it ends up in current scramle for DSA places is not MOE's doing, its kaisu parents at play. -

Yea... This part about brain training ... Difficult to prove the effectiveness , isn't it ? :skeptical:

Ya \"me thinks\" he is indeed gifted in reading the psychology of parents' \"kiasu\" mindset, are they sure his diploma is not in psychology?

But seriously, what is the minimum due diligence that parents should do with enrichment providers before parting with their money?
