If ALL the schools get this, it is a good thing. Stellar has good learning materials and is taught in the way the current PSLE syllabus requirements SHOULD be taught. I like this. Very much.

Stellar gives teachers MORE materials to teach with than the lousy English textbook my son used this year and every year since he was P1. Finally, Upper Primary teachers are being given more basic materials to teach from.

      Well done MOE.

        .
MOE is finally looking into urgent areas :rahrah: ...for eg kindergarten syllabus.
Btw, that English textbook which my son uses is a waste of time and money.

Just wanted to share that my girl's school use Stellar program since P1. I have reservation with this Stellar program and it is supposed to be very interactive and teach less but learn more. But they teach very little literally and very little grammar teaching but the exams tested them more than what she had learnt le! :frustrated:

Strange le, chen, how did you get the impression that Stellar is good program and gives teacher good teaching materials! :nailbite:

Exactly, how to teach and develop critical thinking skills!!

Anyone can offer GEP teaching materials here! If not, parent would have to do even more by searching more...

Previously, I still can relay on some selected and established worksheets...Now ... no more 🤷

My dd will be the guinea pig in 2015!

The setting of comprehension passages should be in line with PSLE. I just found out the recent prelim passage was from a sec 2 title.

My daughter in p2 is using stellar in school. Nothing concrete…present tense, past tense for eg still have to refer to another guide book. She comes home with worksheets, that’s it. Frankly, there should be a textbook with all the necessary stuff like lists of present/past tenses, adjectives, articles, determiners etc. It’s hard to accept even now…at upp pri, it will be worse than now.

Just confirms parent's fears that Primary schools don't teach the basics anymore... Kids who fall behind will need further tuitions/enrichments to catch up.

Preschool to Primary... Hope the new stat board addresses the missing gap.
                      :celebrate:

My dd1's school use Stellar. From the worksheets that she brought home, the teacher taught Eng grammar and punctuation rules. Though I do wonder how is STELLAR going to last till P6.
