      Dear Parents,

My girl is in P3 this yr but since P1 she did not do very well (Band 3) for her Maths. She is with Kumon since K2 and has no problem doing long multiplication and long division even fraction. But don't know is it she is too lazy to analysis the question or she don't understand what is the question asking. She has problem doing problem sum. But she can do very well for her English (Band 1) so I really don't understand why

Had tried 1 to 1 tuition but seem like it doesn't suits or works on her. She can sit there and dream....... for 2 hours. If you scold her she will 😢 then her mood will be affected then so called can end the lesson already.

Now was thinking to try for a small group tuition. May I know which centre is good which they follows closely to the school syllables. If the centre can focus more on problem sum will be BEST

      Please help me :?: :?: :?:

Switch her over to Sakamoto Maths. Kumon is good to prepare kids from pre-school to lower primary, via "drilling" and speed timing way. Sakamoto can help her. Another solution is Onsponge Maths, Also rather popular.

        Sakamoto Maths max size: 6.
You can visit any Sakamoto centre, request to see their sample p3 qns. See to what extent they practise problem sums. Do likewise to Onsponge Maths centre. You also ask them how they teach students, to help them understand. From there, you decide.

          Hi phtthp,

thanks for your reply… went to the sakamoto web but not much informations. So they follow school syllables. So they are not like Kumon will do their work based on their level is it?

Maybe you can tell DD the problem sum is not a math question but a english question and ask her to answer.... hope it helps..

She attended JEI at the Marine Parade Branch before but shows no results. That's why I don't know what can I do to help her already 😢

Enopi and Mpm, do we get to take back the worksheets?

at close to $160/4 lessons (any additional material costs per term?), did anyone engage a private tutor to carry out similar activities (eg arithmetic and IQ work) in similar nature instead?
                    thanks!

My gals used to do MPM from K2 to P1/2. No, they dun get to keep the worksheets, only those maths tools (quality quite good).
