Since TLL teaches so advanced, if a child enters only at P5, can he catch up?

What if he cannot cope or do not understand at all what class is doing, will the teacher provide some assistance or personalised attention just so that he can catch up in class?

Would anyone recommend a good maths tutor in TLL Parkway?
TLL is know for their advanced math and large class size. TLL teachers will not wait for the slower students and the class will just carry on with the syllabus. If you can accept that then TLL is highly recommended.

No sure who is good at https://www.thelearninglab.com.sg/contact-us/our-locations/marine-parade/ though.

wow xyun that's very advanced indeed for P1. This heuristic qn is only taught in P3 or P4 if I am not wrong!
TLL actually taught these questions 3 years in advance!! Really faints.

I feel if the kids really do follow TLL since P1 their curriculum may actually work but the kid also can’t be too weak in the first place .
However the teachers TLL engage for lower primary I feel are not so dedicated. Not sure for upper primary . Lower primary teachers based on My google ,a lot of them came from “famous preschools” not ex MOE teachers and some I saw do not have a degree too.

Don’t want to say anything discriminating over here but after paying so much for the fees I have different expectations of the teachers . And based on what my girl told me , I do not think the teacher she has now actually tries to guide the kids to think but rather teach them “shortcut ways” or solving methods via rote learning . At P2, I don’t think kids should be “spoon fed” solving methods like this . This is what is making me look for alternatives to TLL

IMO, P1 is not suitable for Math Olympiad or Challenging Math. There are quite a lot of calculation, including division, which most P1 will not know how to do. So beside teaching the concept, method, most of the time the teacher is checking on computation errors.

Not surprising. There are more math enrichment centers with advanced mathematics programmes that now teach math olympiad or challenging math to primary 1 kids. TBH, not sure if the primary 1 kids can even understand all the advanced math methods.

I think they have copyrighted the worksheet (printed and stated on every page of the worksheet itself) so I cannot put up on the forum. One class is about 1.5 hours long.

One set is about 15pages, with about 4 pages guided sums and 4 pages sums as homework. They usually do have 1-2 more challenging questions that I do not know how to do, but then my Maths is quite bad unlike my hub. My hub should be able to do them.

The problem is, my son does not know how to do after tuition class, these homework problem sums, not just the hard ones and when I ask him about the guided examples, he does not know either. I do not know why he is like this, and what is the reason for being so clueless after tuition class. He isn't such a weak student in Maths and can score almost full last year.

He has been selected for GEP first round but he wasn't a top kid kind either. He does work really slowly and is very bad at Chinese.
My child attends CM too but still cannot do some of the homework although the centre mentioned that the homework questions were similar to those that were covered in the classes. I am in urgent need to look for 1-1 tuition now before PSLE. Anyone has good recommendation?
