Hi thanks for the recommendation. I was interested in NickleBee too but my eyes popped at the rates. It is beyond my budget 🙈 even more expensive than TLL 😨

You can check out NickleBee math too!

They have branches in Bishan and Sengkang.

        Hi

Can someone recommend me Maths private tutor or Maths group tuition center especially at Sengkang/Hougang/Bishan? Ideally I want my girl to continue all the way to P6. I don’t know how to teach and explain maths to my girl . It stresses both of us out. She is P2 next year.

My girl is currently in TLL for Maths. I find their materials quite good but can’t say the same about their teachers .For eg my girl in P1 was learning supposition method (easy version ). There are 5 cows and ducks . They have 26 legs in total. How many cows and how many ducks are there ?
I think my girl was just drilled into the method of supposed all animals are ducks and then find the extra legs, then give these extra legs to make the duck become cow .
When my girl came home to do the homework , I asked her why supposed all are ducks . Why can’t you suppose all are cows or what happens if you do that. She can’t answer . Seems like she was just doing some rote learning there, basically just memorizing the method to solve which I find at P1 this shouldn’t be the case .

I am open to private tutor . Anyone heard of a Miss Joyce Lim who is/was a primary school teacher ?

        Also looking for reviews on
        - Leaping Maths
        - Bluetree
        - Concept Maths
        -Genius Plus
        Or other recommendations .

Thank you all in advance !
        Hi,

We were really happy that our child managed to get AL1 for PSLE maths. Truly believe that the tutor we engaged for him in P6 was a great help! As our child was previously with a very famous and pricey tutor from P4-P5 (which somehow didn’t work out so well in the end), we could compare the teaching style and realize how under-rated our P6 engaged tutor was. He is extremely low profile and in fact we only managed to find him as we were looking through very elaborately at youtube videos explanations on challenging PSLE questions to find someone who was able to explain complex questions in the simplest way. That’s how we came across "Beautiful Maths". True enough, he was able to advice our child on using more time efficient and effective methods to solve challenging sums, and to be very aware of the MOE marking criteria - what can gain working marks vs what might not. These are very useful tips!

Would it happen to be mr ong from https://www.facebook.com/ongsgbeautifulmaths/?

I have heard about this underrated but good recommendation on the parent chatgroups.

wow xyun that’s very advanced indeed for P1. This heuristic qn is only taught in P3 or P4 if I am not wrong!

TLL actually taught these questions 3 years in advance!! Really faints.

Since TLL teaches so advanced, if a child enters only at P5, can he catch up?

What if he cannot cope or do not understand at all what class is doing, will the teacher provide some assistance or personalised attention just so that he can catch up in class?

Would anyone recommend a good maths tutor in TLL Parkway?
