A liitle too late but if u guys are looking for good math enrichment programmes, i highly recommend myfirstskool. They provide worksheets that help students think and apply math concepts more effectively. My daughter said she enjoys answering the worksheet because it has vivid colours, pictures, and graphs! They also have topics about SG's food economy and personal diet! These worksheets are awesome! Highly recommend!~
      Shulim, haha..
just before this, you posted the same exact message on Sun Sep 24, 2023 8:44 am but with The Learning Lab instead of myfirstskool.

Well, I was wondering why I find the message so familiar.

How is your review for Bluetree Centre? Which branch is your kid attending?
            Thank you in advance.

Hi wiww78, i do have a math tutor whom i think is very good. My first two kids \"graduated\" under her, and my last kid is currently under her as well. Recommended my friend last year as SOS her kid was on the verge of failing (primary 6) and this tutor managed to pull her grades up in the last half a year! Can PM me if you'd like her contact. But not very sure if she's still accepting in Mar-Apr.

It's been a long time since anybody talked about TLL. They are now very different from maybe 5-8 years ago, when the bulk of students in many top schools are all TLL students. Now you can only find a few kids in each class who still go for TLL, and rarely for math.
Wished I saw this earlier. Spent 2 years and a lot of money enrolling my children at TLL for both math and science. Thought spending more money will push the academic results up, but they got only worse. In the end just signed up for a small tuition center conducted by ex-MOE teachers, at least their results improved.

I have been teaching Primary Math Olympiad for years, and also doing Math Tuition at a centre.

P3 school Math is relatively simple, mainly calculation.

From years of experience, I noticed that most students are quick weak in Multiplication, which is the most important skill that they need to do well in Math. Also understanding keywords like sum, product, difference. Confusion in Ones Place, Tens Place etc.

All these could be enhanced by doing more assessment books, to build the concept and confidence in the kids.

                        Hope that answers your concern.
