Hi pumpkin_pie, did u rec any invitation letter to attend P1 Orientation Briefing? I lost the circular that given to me during P1 orientation on 15 Nov.

I didn't get any circular on orientation day. That day I recall was quite disorganized. We just filled up some forms and got uniforms. Book queue was too long. I only know we can accompany our child on the 1st day till 4pm or so. But what to bring I don't know.

Usually parents can accompany their kids to the hall for assembly. The children will go to their class while parents will remain in the hall for Principal talk and HOD briefing. The parents will be able to see their children at the canteen during recess time. Parents can leave the school after recess and come back at about 6.30pm to pick their children up…Usually at the canteen for those who are not with the school buses.

Usually you will be given the list of items to bring on the first 3 days during orientation.

Please remember to bring storybooks for silent reading. English on mon, wed and fri. Chinese on Tuesday and Thursday.

From what i understand, there are 2 top P5 class. P5I and P5H are grouped according to strengths in certain subjects as well as total score for P4. From the grapevine, there was quite a high number of students in the cutoff range (between 5I and 5H), so another comment here about 1 mark separating one student going to 5I and another to 5H sounds valid.

                      Oh My Gosh:
                      Top mainstream P3 classes = P3A & P3J. Top P4 classes = P4A & P4I.

Just curious how TNS allocate the top students into these classes? Solely random?
