The only guaranteed way to enter Tao Nan : is by Phase 1 (sibling), no need to ballot whatsoever. Other than Phase 1, all other Phases (from 2A to 2C) require balloting, in the event demand exceed vacancies.

btw, it is a criminal offence if intentionally use $ to bribe school official(s), to sponsor the school for \"handheld devices needed for in-class educational purposes\".
It is an offence in trying to use $, to buy a seat for your child into this coveted school, behind closed door.
If found out, all those people involved in the transaction, can be jailed. Lose their jobs.
Imagine : if you (one parent) start using $, how many other parents can follow your example, do likewise ?

if Phase 1 not applicable for you, then try Phase 2B, or Phase 2C.
These are the only 2 available road, left for you.

2B : either join Hokkien Huay Kuan (if u are a Hokkien), or join Grassroot Activity Community leader road, by a certain dateline. Check the dateline

2C : shift to a house less than 1 km from Tao Nan, try balloting your luck in.
If fail to ballot in, may seek transfer.
As there is a long waiting list in P1 / P2, transfer normally arise towards end of Primary 3, after the release of P3 GEP screening tests results in November, Term 4.


2A is not applicable for you : as you are neither a management staff nor an ex-student of Tao Nan primary.

To be a staff, first You need to be employed by MOE (Ministry of Education), and second, MOE must post you to Tao Nan primary school, either to teach in the school, or work in an Administrative role.

Management committee comprise of -
Principal, VP (Academic), VP (Administrative), Operations Manager, various subject Head for (P4 to P6) GEP curriculum, various subject Head of department for (P1 to P6) Mainstream curriculum, Senior Subject Teachers, Head of Alumni running the committee.

Does anyone have any idea like what PV will parents be involved in at Hokkien Huay Kuan? Because I am caring for my kid alone. So I need to plan my time well.

For Administration Staff at Tao nan, do they hired via MOE or by the school? From what I see, for the past 4 years, phase 2A2 have not ballot so far, even for the latest registration.

Admin staff are employed and posted by MOE. And it's only worthwhile for you to go the Huay Kuan way if you're living within 1km from the school. More info here: http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum ... 9&start=30

ALL staff posted to work at Tao Nan primary, are hired by MOE.
MOE is their pay cheque master.

you're not eligible for Phase 2A2.
2A2 for ex-Tao Nan students, pupils who had studied in this school years ago, now grown up, become parents.

You qualify for Phase 2B, provided you're in time to meet dateline.
Make a trip to Hokkien huay Kuan, ask them all questions that you are concerned with.
Hokkien huay Kuan is the right (correct) place for you to make inquiries, as huay Kuan in charge of assigning the duties for all the Parent volunteer.
Nothing to do with Tao Nan school, as School does not handle PV.
Huay Kuan is the one in charge of PV.

If you are seriously keen to be a staff of the school -
Apply to MOE.
During job interview, tell the interviewer that you wish to be deployed to Tao Nan, stating valid reasons why. Moe may or may not entertain your personal request.

Assuming that you are successful in job interview, been offered a job, and get posted to Tao Nan, become a staff in this school : when time come for P1 registration to enrol him, inform your boss (Principal of TNS) your intention, how is it possible to enrol your son, under Phase 2A1 ?

Your status is different now, because you have become a staff in this school, no longer just an ordinary parent.

In the event, for whatever certain reasons, Phase 2A1 is still not applicable for you, then you will have to register your son into another primary school. Meanwhile, tell your boss your intention to transfer your son back into Tao Nan.
As you have become a staff, it should be easier for him (your son) to get transfer in, compared to outsiders whose parents are non staff in this school.

You won't get a chance to work in the school once you successfully joined Hokkien Huay Kuan.

Stop dreaming !

You will be assigned those unwanted job, e.g helping out in the temple…
Even if you have completed 200hrs voluntary job, there is no guarantee Huay Kuan will allow your child to get in TNS or other schools.

As I mentioned earlier, make an effort, go down directly to school, Hokkien Huay Kuan to raise your concern instead of asking around here.

Welcome back. DD is in P3 this year but I did not make a copy of her report book. So if not urgent and you can wait till after SA2, I will be able to revert then.
