2014 PSLE Discussions and Strategy

During my time the SMS started around 6am+ through to 10am.

However, the posting result will be updated in the system so you can logon to the S1 posting system and check (if you can't stand the suspense of waiting for the SMS). I don't know what time the system will be updated by I guess 6am is safe since the SMS already started.

which one will you choose, suppose able to meet Cut off point no issue, and sch fees ($300 at Scgs vs $28 per month at St Nick, no issue), distance to school also no issue.

I will consider the St Nic SAP environment as the deciding factor. My child's performance and aptitude towards Chinese in primary school.

If $ and distance are not a problem, I will choose SCGS. I am a bit biased : p bcos I hv met many SC girls who r v gd in Eng and accomplished in the biz world. I m not keen on SAP schs bcos I will worry if my child can cope with the HMT std there.

HMT should not be a concern

most people do HMT for the sake of passing it in Sec 4 'O' level so that does not have to deal with MT in JC years

HMT should not be a concern

most people do HMT for the sake of passing it in Sec 4 'O' level so that does not have to deal with MT in JC years[/quote]There is also no short of st nick gals who are well accomplished in business fields, social service sector and professions.

To share with you why i chose scgs for my DDs.

I remembered watching Channel 8 News few years back which featured St Nic topping O'level. Disappointed that the top scorer was an invited scholar from Malaysia to join in sec 3. In Ksp 2011 thead, parents were discussing that for past couple of years, St Nic top scorers were all Malaysian invited to join St Nic from some top Selangor pri schs. Even my friends with dds inside st nic are not happy about this. I don't need the sch to produce top scorer every year but would rather the sch devote time and resources to groom our own girls. Glad to say, scgs is developing its girls and not just importing talents. :siam:

if they don't top in St Nick, they will top in some other schools in SG.

they are hungry for success. we only hungry to gripe.

AND being top in St Nick or SG does not preclude other Singaporean students from obtaining the same results. O Level is not a ranking or placement exam

oops :oops: forgot that. after wearing that primary school uniform for 6 years, you can finally hang it up AFTER reporting.

oops :oops: forgot that. after wearing that primary school uniform for 6 years, you can finally hang it up AFTER reporting.[/quote]need to wear for psle cert collection, reporting to sec sch posted to on 22nd, when appealing to the school you DC wants. Lastly, (for those appealing) have to wear till appealing has been confirmed or not.
So iron till straight straight ya!
