It will depend on the chairman and the committee. Certain \"sleeping\" GRLs can't be removed due to some tactical reasons :censored:

Unless the \"sleeping members\" can be replaced by active members of the same criteria.

Hi, need some clarification. I am about to register now as a volunteer. My question is I am staying in Haig Road and my CC is Geylang CC. However even though I am less than 1km to Kong Hwa, the school itself is different constituency from my place. So if I am selected to be a EM in 3 years will I be consider as 2B for even if it's different constituency?

You will be qualified for P2B only for schools within your GRC/SMC. You won't enjoy P2B for Kong Hwa in your case as it's under another GRC/SMC.

Not if the GRC you are staying is under the same constituency of Kong Hwa and you are a CCMC or CCC member.

Scgs is under Kallang Moulmein under post election boundary. However I heard that current tanjong pager grassroot members wrote to their grc MP and asked for exception to extend and able to apply to SCGS under phase 2B for next year P1 registration. The MP had approved. If this is the case then other GRC members should request the same eg. both pre-election boundary-Aljunied and current amk grc should be able to apply Rosyth for next year regi.

Correction... I don't think is the MP who approved. It is PA's discussion with MOE to allow this exception.

minimum need to join how many years, need to reach what level then can receive 2B letter of authorization from grassroot ? Thanks for info!

One can't just fill in a form and join committees like CCC and CCMC, you must be an existing GRL or being recommended. For example, PAP may just plant some potential next-GE candidates into such committees - parachuted in without much effort.

I think as a GRL, the activeness is for life. Give back to the community.

ya... once you have served for 2-3 years, it is just hard to disappear or be sleeping member. Unless one is so thick-skinned to just resign (without good reason) or vanish. Considering one will easier bounce to the other members/chairman within the neighbourhood

Possible but very difficult to meet the criteria in time for registration under P2B. Pls ask your friend to read previous threads. To be safe, min. is 2 years with min. 1 year as EM to ensure P2B privilege. It largely also depends on one's commitment and active level. If can't commit time and effort, better don't try and waste everyone's time.

i’m thinking of going through this route so say, my kid is born in 2009. He will register at 6 years old 2015. (Entering Primary1 at 2016).


So timeline goes:
2011-2012 -> Now is Oct. 2 months left for application paperwork processing.
2012-2013 -> Observer at RC/NC (1 year)
2013-2014 -> Executive Member (1 year) - hopefully lah!
2014-mid2015 -> Preparation of letter & Application date !

wow if the above calculation is correct, doesnt that mean i have to submit my application now?

also, my choice of school is under AMK GRC. I’m currently staying at Marine Parade GRC. Does that mean i should move house now?
