minimum need to join how many years, need to reach what level then can receive 2B letter of authorization from grassroot ? Thanks for info!

One can't just fill in a form and join committees like CCC and CCMC, you must be an existing GRL or being recommended. For example, PAP may just plant some potential next-GE candidates into such committees - parachuted in without much effort.

I think as a GRL, the activeness is for life. Give back to the community.

ya... once you have served for 2-3 years, it is just hard to disappear or be sleeping member. Unless one is so thick-skinned to just resign (without good reason) or vanish. Considering one will easier bounce to the other members/chairman within the neighbourhood

Possible but very difficult to meet the criteria in time for registration under P2B. Pls ask your friend to read previous threads. To be safe, min. is 2 years with min. 1 year as EM to ensure P2B privilege. It largely also depends on one's commitment and active level. If can't commit time and effort, better don't try and waste everyone's time.

i’m thinking of going through this route so say, my kid is born in 2009. He will register at 6 years old 2015. (Entering Primary1 at 2016).


So timeline goes:
2011-2012 -> Now is Oct. 2 months left for application paperwork processing.
2012-2013 -> Observer at RC/NC (1 year)
2013-2014 -> Executive Member (1 year) - hopefully lah!
2014-mid2015 -> Preparation of letter & Application date !

Yes, you will need to move. As a RC/NC EM, you need to be staying in that GRC. Unless you are a EM for the CCMC and CCC at AMK GRC, then no need to move. However, getting into CCMC or CCC is not easy.

Sorry to be asking such a fundamental/stupid question but how can we find out which schools belong to our GRC now? MOE used to have it on their website but now there seems to only be a list by planning area, not GRC. I used to also key in the postal code of the school on the PA website but that’s kind of a reverse search method, is there an easier way?

Can anybody help with this question ? I live within the Chengsan-seletar neighbourhood committee, will becoming an active grassroot leader qualify me for Rosyth phase2b? Chengsan-seletar GRC is under the AMK GRC.

Hi, can somebody help me to clarify a few issues:

1) if I have a property rented out in GRC A but am currently staying GRC B, can I apply to serve in GRC A?
2) RC/NC members can enjoy P2B only in the GRC that they serve but CCMC/CDC/CCC members can enjoy for all GRCs?
3) YEC and WEC members can’t be recognized as executive member?
4) how can we get into CCMC/CDC/CCC?
5) the address that the endorsement letter shows, is it based on IC or any that we may fill in? N if change address along the way, will it shows the new address or the old one when first joined?
