That's quite long. When you do submit the application online?Dear All Grassroot Leaders,
I had received my letter of eligibility under Phase 2B from our Constituency Director today.
Keep a lookout for calls from them. -
Is it better to go for PV or become a grassroot leader? Surely everything in life has its benefits and limitations…What about this case?

One just need to do 1 year & clock 40 hours (typically) for PV
Whereas for GRL, one will probably spend 3-5 nights/weekends per month on community activities. One will probably start to serve 1-2 years prior to the registration and thereafter another 1-2 years before slowly start to disappear. When you are quite on during the 1st 2-3 years, they will ask you to become office bearer. Then it is harder for one to leave thereafter.
So if one join just purely for P2B registration. It is not worth it. You will burn alot of weekends -
The plus side of being a GRL is that you can register at any school within the GRC during phase 2B.

pros and con
=================
i) if go for GRL, advantage is you can handpick or can have more than 1 choice of a few primary schools, within the same GRC.
ii) advantages for PV:-
- simpler than GRL. Just clock # of PV hours faithfully required one by one, & your task is done. Unlike GRL duties where you follow MP around, can \"eat\" into many times per week. Depend on your time availabilty schedule. GRL is for those group of people who truly have the genuine heart to serve community at large. Not last minute quickly sign up in time, hope to get 2B letter in time for P1 registration due.
- in the event if the child fail to ballot get a place in your desired school of choice:-
if you had done PV and school Principal know you personally as P had seen you hardworking clocking up hours in school during those PV activities / talked to you before, your chance of transfer in is higher ... because in life, \"Who you know\" matters & is important. esp. if you know the Principal personally, had chit chat with her before. Compared to a situation whereby you do GRL but school P doesn't know you personally, or never talk to you before.
put yourself in the shoes of the P ...
if there's only 1 precious vacancy left for transfer & there're two parents standing in front of you :
one PV for your school directly impact / contribute to the school & you know the parent personally, the other come in via GRC - which child will you prefer to take in / accept into your school ?
P, after all is human. -

What really matters in highly sought after school is distance.
GRL route is the least preferred means, refer to All about getting priority registration thread. -

Apply online, once advisor approved, the constituency director will sign on the P2B letter.
How does the P2B Letter looks like? Does it indicate my current address on the P2B Letter?timtim:
Phase 2B Letter needs Chairman signature? Thought we just apply online and PA will directly send to us or via CO?
No signature required and P2B thing does not concern or involve the Chairman. He/she has no say in that. If you are eligible, you will be able to register online and wait for the letter. That simple. Chairman does not know who are eligible and who receive the letter from PA. -
P2B letter come with PA letterhead with constituency director signature.
It will state your address as per your NRIC and the GRC (s) that your child is eligible in P2B. -

All along I thought the signature is from the Advisor

Those who have the letter should make a copy prior to registration day as the true copy will be kept by the school.
