Dear all,
I hope I am asking the questions in the right thread…
Based on what I read, I understand there’s a possibility for me to use the address of a yet-to-be-completed property for primary school registration - as long as I move in to the address within 2 years (from the day my child starts school?) and I suppose update my NRIC with the new address.
My question is, if I am an existing GRL, am I able to also make use of this new address so that PA will recognise me under the GRC of this new address rather than the one I am currently staying at?
Thank you. -
I think can’t because
1) PA’s record is directly off the central data base - ie, your nric address.
Thus pa will not even capture your not completed yet property address, let alone recognizing it.
Why should it anyway? Think about it. Your yet-to-be-completed address is only a string of text on the purchase agreement while you are still physically staying somewhere and volunteering at your physical residence.freezeny\" post_id=\"1918620\" time=\"1562695808\" user_id=\"114500:

Sounds right… thanks!

Hi, my GRC and the school I wish to apply for my child is in are the same but I am currently volunteering for a neighbourhood committee under which the school doesn’t not fall under. Do they look at the GRC area or the neighbourhood committee area?
-
If nric address is in the grc, then the school will follow suit.

Hi, I’m new here and I heard that ACS does not take in PV or GRL in Phase 2B, is that true?
If ACS takes in GRL, where should I go to volunteer? I’m staying at Newton area.
Many thanks! -
Thanks for your reply. For some reason the school I would like to apply for was not included in the list for this year’s registration even though it’s in our GRC. I asked the CM who said something about the school needing to be in the same area and not just GRC. So am very confused as I didn’t think this was the case.

may be due to the cut off zone of the GRC,
like although its across the street, it can be AMK GRC or Hougang SMC , for example only.mumofboys2\" post_id=\"1920165\" time=\"1563293988\" user_id=\"143341:

To frenmy and skii,
Base on my understanding,
1. The school you can choose is only based on the residential address in your nric.
2. The letter to endorse you are active community leader does not have any grc or address attached to it. It does not pose restriction on the location. -
