Hi
I will solve it this way but is there a more simplified way for P1? In the first place, can they understand? I am going to ask my daughter.
First No = ?
Second No = ? + 2
Third No = ? + 2 + 3
Add all the additional numbers 2 + 2 + 3 gives you 7.
The remaining number for the 3 numbers must be 10 - 7 = 3, so, the number has to be 1. The three number would be 1, 3 and 6.
Is this correct?

Can you email me as well? Thanks a zillion. [email protected]

EN:
Thanks EN for the good tips. I have this problem getting my P1 to understand the concept too...Hi ryankwek
This is the method I use.
1. 5 is 1 less than _
I teach my kids to close the number that comes before \"the less than\" or \"more than\". For this eg, he will need to close number 1. He will then read it as 5 is less than _____. If he understands concept more or less, he should know that the blank should be filled with bigger number. Since the answer must be a bigger number, he needs to add instead of minus.
2. _ is 1 less than 3
Close the number before the less than again. The question will read as what is less than 3. The blank must me a number smaller than 3. So must minues in order to get smaller number.
Hope this will help.

i have Top School P1 2008 Maths exam papers to share. Interested to receive a copy, PM me your email (file size ~9MB).
I'm thinking if we could have a separate thread for us mummy to share ? We can upload revision papers/test papers from our kid's school to share among so our kids can explore to different kind of question??
What do you think? :please: -
I received my boy term test paper yesterday for parent signature.
Just to share the type of mistake that he made.
So far only one question was did wrongly:
2 is _____ less than 6.
The answer is 4 but he wrote the answer 8.
He asked me why his answer was wrong and I told him "less than" means lesser, and lesser means the answer must be less than 6. He still blur blur… -

Easier to find for others navigating for P1 Math

Or simply share the problems and solutions here

So, go ahead. Share away.. Thanks for the heads
