Nothing is more important than paying attention in class. I believe that no assessment books can replace the teachings of the teacher itself. Surely the teacher will teach or give scaffolding to what will be tested in the coming exams.
Yes, of course assessment books cannot replace a GOOD teacher and paying attention is crucial.
But you will be surprised that in some schools, even at P1, children are thrown questions which have never been taught.. -

The tests/exams are meant to test
-how many parents can resist teaching in advance
-how many parents believe in teaching in advance
-how many kids attend tuition... -
i try not to teach in advance but i do a lot of revision with my girl. But even when revision can be very frustrating and tired… cant imagine teach in advance…

I don't teach in advance...preferring to revise instead. So that my girl will listen to teacher in class :xedfingers: instead of having the mentality that she knows. Yes, doing revision with her can be frustrating too :slapshead:
With this girl, she has moods. -

I revise everyday with my kids...esp the boy in P5. With my gal, I revise something with her every morn or it is very possible she forgets everything when Term 3 starts. -

yes… the long awaited one month holiday… yet life is pretty much the same as during the school term for me as working parent. I have started revision for her by letting her do 1-2 sets of past year papers for different subject during daytime and then i will go through her mistakes after dinner and then prob a tv show or games for an hour and sleep… where is my holiday i wonder?
Teacher said her listening comprehension is weak so i bought an assessment book on it… havent had time to get started on it… another 2 weeks, school reopens… aiyoh… -
The standard these days ah.. really :siao:
P1 SA1, Paper 2 2011.
Mother has baked some cream puffs and durian puffs. She wants to put 8 puffs into a box. In how many ways can she put the puffs in order to have at least one of each kind of puffs in the box?
