[Bukit Timah] Primary Schools

I just want to share my girlfriend’s experience with any parent who is feeling discouraged.
She had to ballot in the within 1km category for both phase 2B & 2C and unfortunately, wasn’t successful. Imagine her disappointment! So she had to accept MOE’s allocation to a school that is 30 mins away by school transport from her home. But she put her daughter’s name on wait-list at the school which she had balloted at.
Her daughter was into her 1st term at the new school when the school she wait-listed for called my gf to tell her that they have a vacancy.
So, please don’t lose hope. Try all you can. You never know if your luck will change for the better. -

Yes, I am a member of a methodist church and bought my place way even i had my 1st kid!
did u go into P2B as a member of the church?spikey:
Thank God my girl's slip got picked! Gosh! My husband and I were so nervous. When I came back home, I was mentally and physically drained but I said a little prayer for the 5 girls who were unsuccessful. I prayed that they will go to phase 2c and there will be NO balloting for all categories!
Keep our fingers crossed for them! I really do not want anyone to go through this scary experience.
You know, i was one of those suaku women who didnt know anything about volunteering, 1km priority or balloting! I thought all kids who lived nearby the school will be given a place. It was only when i had my first child and people started asking me about my plans for him, then i realised the madness that goes with Primary 1 registration.
I was so relieved that hubby is old boy of ACSP but I still kena have to suffer for my daughter.
Oh, so all your P1 registration fear are over. Boy goes ACS and girl goes MGS. If you have younger ones will go under phase 1 in either school which definitely guarentee u a place. :celebrate: -
KSP:
I stopped at 2!! I can't imagine handling anymore stress from coaching my 2 kids.

Do you mean after phase 2C, the MOE will allocate a school? Or they can apply under phase 2c Supp?sassy:

Yes, same here too. FACTORY is closed. The stress from coaching 2 in their studies is tough enough...but sassy is luckier in the sense that her son has an affiliated sec school to fall back on. My son in Pei Hwa doesn't have any affiliation

Which year was hubby from? I was also from ACPS.
Got a question: Do both parents have to be members of the methodist church or just one parent will do? My wife is not to keen of becoming a member of the methodist church. -

One should suffice. It's like you need just one of the parents to be GRL, or just one to be member of SHHK. -
