Oh, so all your P1 registration fear are over. Boy goes ACS and girl goes MGS. If you have younger ones will go under phase 1 in either school which definitely guarentee u a place. :celebrate:
just kidding ... lol
No la, the older kids have to take care of me then! -
KSP:

I asked my gf and she told me after 2C, she still die die also wanted to try at the same achool and when there was no vacancies, MOE allocated her the new school at the end of this phase 2C supplementary.hi Sassy,
Do you mean after phase 2C, the MOE will allocate a school? Or they can apply under phase 2c Supp?sassy:
I just want to share my girlfriend's experience with any parent who is feeling discouraged.
She had to ballot in the within 1km category for both phase 2B & 2C and unfortunately, wasn't successful. Imagine her disappointment! So she had to accept MOE's allocation to a school that is 30 mins away by school transport from her home. But she put her daughter's name on wait-list at the school which she had balloted at.
Her daughter was into her 1st term at the new school when the school she wait-listed for called my gf to tell her that they have a vacancy.
So, please don't lose hope. Try all you can. You never know if your luck will change for the better. -

Graduated from P6 in 1980.
Hi there
Which year was hubby from? I was also from ACPS.
Got a question: Do both parents have to be members of the methodist church or just one parent will do? My wife is not to keen of becoming a member of the methodist church.
No, only 1 parent has to be a methodist church member. I was already a member way back in the 90s so i just have to get a letter of endorsement from the church. -

Yes, only if they score the minimum cut-off. Our 2 kids have inherited the \"if can idle, then must idle\" genes from us, i think i have to use the whip come P.S.L.E.
Yes, same here too. FACTORY is closed. The stress from coaching 2 in their studies is tough enough...but sassy is luckier in the sense that her son has an affiliated sec school to fall back on. My son in Pei Hwa doesn't have any affiliation

Hi - Sorry i am curious. You mean for MGS, you need a church letter and not the kid’s baptism cert? Sorry - not sure how Methodist church works. Txs.

I thought of doing that too..buying a house within 1 km near our school of choice, coming next year..but my hubby thinks that I am going overboard now...he is aiming for work-life and family balance, when I am those who will go all the way out to get our son a good school...in a dilemma now...:( it is going to be another bet as well...bicky:
Congrats to those mummies who got in under 2B balloting this afternoon. Really feel so sad for those who couldn't get in. Esp, those mum/dad who put in so much effort or time for PV & yet this is what they get! Pls don't give up. I am sure your prayers will be answered. All the best to you ...

for desperate measures, go buy an apartment within 1 km now, and hope that Phase 2C within 1 km has no balloting and go talk to the principal too, so that she fully understands ....... if any parent is die hard fan of NYPS
desperate circumstances call for desperate solution - legally aboveboard -

there are kids who school-bus all the way from Pasir Ris to NYPS. So, Bedok is not so bad la.....when the bus started at Pasir Ris, the kid can just wake up at Bedok and still be in time ....lol
Not only that...his wife sacrified her highly paid job as a manager to convert to some half day work so that she could drive their son to the school (Bedok to Bkt Timah). In fact, she has done that for the past 2 years to clock the 70 hrs volunteers in the NYPS...so, can imagine...family's finance reduced, and get nothing in the end...yes...I have been helping them by just listening and looking out for other schools for them...keeping my fingers crossed for them too...
I thought of that too. So if they weren't going to move nearer, then missing out on NYPS may be a blessing in disguise for the child.BigDevil:
Hi Fabbymum,
your friend stays in Bedok and go all the way to NYPS?? Pretty long journey for the kiddo...
I wonder when parents do so much for their child, wonder if one day the child will come to realise how much sacrifice have we, as parents done for our kiddos...this is the beauty of parenthood...:) -

The Methodist and most of Protestants do not practise infant baptism
Only when the child is old enough is make her own confession can she be baptised - that is what i understand. I may be wrong though -

that is so sad but just have to get over it
