Hi parents, my daughter is currently in pri 1. 1st month of schooling, her pocket money was stolen twice (culprit was caught for stealing several classmate’s money too). In the 2nd month of schooling, she was blackmailed. Her classmate demanded my daughter to buy them some stationary which my daughter rejected. Now her classmate get others not to friend my daughter and started to call her ugly. I also recalled when I was doing PV, I saw the discipline master scolding a student for pushing another student down the stair causing a bad injury and hospitalisation. Personally, I find that the moral education in Anderson pri is rather weak thus it is an obstacle for the kids to excel in their study.
Is these incident a norm in other school too? -

It's only the 2nd month. I don't think it's fair to blame it on the school becoz of poor parenting. I think the parents who have spent the last 6 over yrs with their child should be responsible for their child's behaviour.Hi parents, my daughter is currently in pri 1. 1st month of schooling, her pocket money was stolen twice (culprit was caught for stealing several classmate's money too). Teach your gal to protect herself. My boy has been lucky to meet some nurturing classmates and they have been nice to him. Altho there are some no so nice ones, but overall it still looks alright. While doing PV at the canteen during the first two weeks, I have witnessed some bullies and yes, I noticed a gal bully. Not sure if it's the same one that u mentioned though. Ya, which class is that? -
Even in schs like st nics, there was some scratching and pulling incidents and nasty name calling from the p1. So rather, i think it’s due to parents not teaching their children how to behave appropriately.

I do not wish to tarnish the class on these isolate incident. I’m just surprise that in less than 2 mths of schooling, my gal has to face stealing and blackmailing.
I guess is time to teach my gal the fact of life. -
Yes agree w mashy, every sch also ve "black sheep"! Parents really play a big role. Some parents dun even know how to say "thank you" aft ppl offering their assistance, so wat can you expect fr their kids?? Kids are innocent, just like a blank sheet of paper. It’s the environment,tv programmes n how parents educate them in their everyday life.Perhaps parent’s "genes" too:) Tat’s wat many grandparents say!

Dear parents,
Not sure if you read this case which first appeared in TNP last week about a bullying case (in another primary school) (not APS). The case is also carried in AsiaOne

 I feel very sad for the boy and his family, and I hope our children do not have to face such situation. The least we can do, as parents, is to talk more with our children, find out how their day had been, and encourage them to share their fears and worries with us. I'm not saying I do best, but I try ....
It's very distressing, when such things happen.
My boy faced a bullying incident in school last month (from a fellow P1) - but that has since been resolved after we highlighted it to the form teacher. Kudos to the form teacher for taking quick action and working closely with the form teacher of the bully from another class. -
If it happens in P1, I dont think u can blame it on the school. But if upper pri is bullying the lower pri, then its better to let the school know. So far my 2 sons are ok with their classmates, even befriend some upper pri kids from their CCA.
