Hi idlewise, my dd will be in P1 next yr too! From my 2 ds experience, there are not much homework for P1 & 2. No mid year exam too.

      Hello Belinng

Thank you for the information. I look forward to showing my kid around the school.

Erm, u won't get to do that. The teachers will do that on orientation day. Kekeke. Nowadays, we can't walk around in sch as we like.

That goes to all the other schools. Nobody is supposed to walk around the school. You have to proceed to the staff office if you have an appt with a teacher. In fact parents only get to visit the school on orientation day & meet parents & teachers meeting day.

Yup, the rest of the time. You can only wait at the security guard area. Which is normally where I waited for my ds when they are younger. Now that they are older, they went back home on their own. Even appt with the teachers, you have to wait outside the General office for them. So I will normally sms the teachers before they will come down and meet me.

During orientation day which is on 16th Nov 2pm for this year, the kids will be gg to their class for some simple activities, walk around the school and know their friends before they are brought back to us. And during this time, the principle/teachers will be talking to us, we will be filling up forms, paying money for the 1st week recess meals, collecting your kids name tags (Understand last year was a bit messy for the name tags) After all this, some of the parents will procceed to the bookshop to buy books/uniforms/shoes/socks/schoolbag for the kids.

Last year we gotta queue at the bookshop after orientation to order the name tags. No collection till sch reopened.

Thats a bit messy. Previously my 2 ds actually have the general office called me up to ask how I want to put my ds’s name as their name is too long. So when I went for the orientation, I actually pay and collect the name tags from the teacher.

Thank you for sharing your experience. At least I won't be having too much expectation on that day.

                    Cheers
