Thanks Lindy!
My gal is in her 2nd week of primary One. So far so good, she just complained that assembly is boring…different from her kindergarten…lol.
btw, does all primary Ones have PE lessons for 3 days a week? I didn’t know till i got the timetable, thus got to buy 1 more set for her. -
Hi Parent,
Can anyone share when is the school open house for 2014 in take and what is the chances for phase 2c to get in? Also can I used my husband report card under St. Michael to get DD in under phase 2a? Wonder are they affiliated under Christian school… -
Hi… Any parents with kids going back on Tuesdays to Pasir Ris area after 330pm?
Trying to find a carpool for my p1 girl. -
Hi all,
My girl is born I year 07 and I am contemplating between CHIJ and Haig girls, I hope mummy or daddy or even student from CHIj Katong can shared your experience with me here…
TIA -
My daughter and I are extremely pleased with our decision to put her in CHIJ. She is in P2 and her teachers so far have been excellent. I like that the school balances academics and extra-curruculars.

I think whichever school is supposed to be better academically depends on the teacher the kids get.
I was from KC Pri and so were my 2 girls.
1 enjoyed it and 1 did not. My fondest school days were dpent there.
1 thing Haig Girls has that CHIJ Katong Pri does not have is the extensive choice of CCAs. So it’s really what you want from the school.
But I think CHIJ girls normally are better speakers of the English language. -

Thanks for your reply on your take for the school. It be good for my girl shall she be able to bein a school which can build her self confidence. Which do you see that in KC? -
Hi Skyjp,
I cannot comment on that cos it really depends on the kid herself. My elder daughter is shy and introverted. My younger one exhibits a fair bit of confidence.
The school did not quite bring out the best in my elder daughter although the school did recognise her sporting efforts by commending on her achievements.
I cannot comment too much too cos the principal now is relatively new. She joined when my younger one was in P5. I heard she has made some changes to the school. Previously speech and drama as well as dance lessons were part on the P1s and 2s curriculum. I heard these have been scrapped. And I think you need to speak to the school to find out if this is true.
I like these programmes and the more extra curricular activities the school has, the more I like.
For that matter, if distance is not an issue, MGS or SCGS may be better choices.
Having observed how some other nearby school kids speak, I am glad my girls went to CHIJ Primary.
