      Power Puff:
Can any kind parent enlighten me on the school curriculum hours from Mon-Fri? Are there specific days when the Pri 2 boys have to stay longer in school, or end earlier? If so, what are the timings like? Do they also have any compulsory activity on Sat? What CCAs are available to P2 boys and their pre-requisites? Thanks for helping..Need to plan childcare and transport arrangements.

      School hours : Mon - Fri , 7.15am - 1.45pm.

Don't think P2 boys are required to stay back in school for any activities, except for a few short-term enrichment courses which are not compulsory.

CCAs are scheduled on different days for different CCAs, though most fall on Wed afternoons. A few CCAs do require the boys to go back to school on Saturday mornings, but not all.

        Hi all,

We went to Pri 1 Orientation on Sat for 2015 intake. Greeted by a very loooooong :salute: row of polite pupils from the drop off point to (all the way) the hall! Impressed by this efforts! Felt welcomed and warm even we were running late....my worried mind was taken off by these cute smiley boys!

Felt the excitement after this orientation, but not sure from my boy...haha.
Well, next year will be filled with more challenges and i hope my boy will enjoy his school and make more friends! :rahrah:
Wow.. That was indeed l-o-n-g.. πŸ˜“

Hope your boy had a wonderful Orientation at CHS !

        :welcome: and :celebrate:

You've never experienced Orientation before hor, hahah. CHS boys are supposed to *bow* to teachers and parents. πŸ˜„

Yes, you remember.. Both my boys were 'transfer' students, so they didn't attend CHS P1 Orientation..

I also like it that the boys are taught to greet & bow to the examiners during Oral exams. My friend, who happened to be an invigilator at CHS last year, was very impressed..

Was at the school bookshop today. Saw the new name tags for primary-1 boys, which include both English & Chinese names. Nice !

Wonder if this is the first 'change' made by the new Principal.. πŸ˜“

              Thank you, iFirefly.

I've tried asking the admin via email for info on available CCAs eg. what sports like table tennis, basketball, band, choir, etc. and any prerequisites, and on what days they are conducted and duration but to no avail. Simply said they are not compulsory at that level. Are there swimming classes after school?

Many apologies that I've to ask here..Thought I could get some info from the P1 2015 Powerpoint slides on the school website but can't access or open the file.

my ds will be joining P4 next yr. I noticed that there is no nametag order form, and bookshop sell them at $4? Is it ready made? and how many piece for that?

For P4, how many days of PE? Do the child change back to sch uniform after PE?

What size of socks is typical for P4 mid size boy…shoe size abt 3.

How strict is school on canvas shoe with shoe lace?

I have intention to let ds join string ensemble, any prequirsite on child’s grade, any audition they need to go through? N what grade of songs are them playing? finally which day is the CCA days.

Any parents can help pls share.

I recall we had to fill up a form to order the name tags, and then collect them at the bookshop on another day. Better call the school to check how its done now.

Twice a week for PE lessons. No need to wear school uniform on PE days.

No need to wear CHS socks (my boys found them too thick & warm), any white socks will do. Likewise, any white shoes, with straps or laces, are acceptable.

                    iFirefly, now nametags maybe changed

for my p1 boy, now no need to fill up form at all. We have no choice in the name that goes on the nametags. The school (teacher) decides. So just pay and collect together with schoolbooks purchased at bookshop.

My boys love the CHS socks though. One less headache what socks to wear. They like the thick socks. But There is no necessity to wear the school socks.

Any white shoes ok - not compulsory to have laces.

String Ensemble - PM me for contact.

I don't think the new Principal has any say - yet. Bc usually changeover of Principal takes place in December. Mr Lee was at the P1 orientation.

                        As for the buttons - not \"no need remove buttons\" - it's \"non-removable\". Haiz.
