Once sent my nephew to his lesson at a tuition centre, Merry Education. Spoke to the teacher about homework care. She seemed genuine and was knowlegeable. My nephew and a few of his friends were doing extremely well at Keming and I was quite envious. So, tried to fish some tips from her. I was left with a very good impression. However, I still think that a nap, snacks and some playtime will allow better balance. Of course, the grandparents have to be reminded about too much tv. It's strange how they can be so strict towards us yet spoil their own grandkids. Give and take. No stranger can care more than a grandparent. :grphug:

I don't think the P3 text can be used for next year as there is a drastic change in the content... The \"huan le huo ban\" website has uploaded the chapters for 3A, maybe you can compare the new chapters with the old ones to see if there's any repetition..

The wushu team use rvhs dsa to lure students in. I tell them go fly kite. If i want my child to be physical active, i go elsewhere, not for the sake of dsa.

My P1 daughter was in wushu last year and was told she was in school team. She even attended the training daily during her Nov/Dec school holidays. Today, she rcvd her new training schedule (given 2 - non school team & school team). When we questioned the teacher in charge, she simply replied that to ignore the school team schedule, when we asked further how come she's not in school team, no reply. I cannot believe how irresponsible can these teachers-in-charge be. During the Nov/Dec holidays, there is no Keming school teachers around but simply the wushu coaches and sometimes, no coaches, asking students to teach the juniors. Without the Keming school teachers to take attendance, how can one knows if the child did attend the training or not.

The school has a School Programme Executive (SPE) to do administrative work, which includes taking the attendance of pupils and relieving the school teachers who are having their meetings. The SPE is one of the administrative staff and has the responsibility of doing the above.
From what I heard, there is one instructor for every CCA to many pupils, so the instructors are not able to attend all the pupils at the same time and need to take turns. Sometimes the instructors will get the seniors to coach the juniors while attending to another group of pupils.
Other ccas too have such situations. I learned to check with many people (though time-consuming) before coming to a conclusion. One child told her mother that she was \"kicked out\" from a CCA. After the parent checked with the teacher-in-charge and the instructor, they explained that the girl misunderstood the instructions when they told her to stand at the side (cos she didn't attend previously) while the rest of the pupils danced.

                        :?: Hi there!

Need advice from fellow parents. My child is taking her PSLE soon and got feedback from her teacher about her standard.
Tried to get home tutor but was advised by agencies like smiletution and tutionsingapore that tutors will not take on job because they have to pay half month commission to agency and only one month left.
The parent volunteers tell me merritt education is the best here and I just visited the place. They’re not taking in any P6 students cause of disruption to other students.
Need to check with parents if there are other alternatives.
Also, anyone taken no-pay leave to coach their child? Is it true that will cause strain in relationship?
                        Thanks.
