      Hi!

We are catholics and wish to register my boy in SAPS. Want to find out the following:
      1) how is the school culture/environment? Any good focus on character building?
      2) academic standard. I could not find any past psle achievements
      3) chinese standard. Any higher chinese and from what level onwards?
      4) Secondary school affiliation with SJI. How will SAPS students benefit from it, discounted PSLE scores to get into SJI?

      Thanks!!

Is there any Open House in 2015? It would be good if there is an opportunity to visit the school.

          Hi,

Perhaps I can share some experience on SAPS, I have two kids, one still study in SAPS, another was P6 last year at the same school.

SAPS only stream Higher Chinese in P5, I would say, Chinese may not be the strength of SAPS as it doesn't have strong Chinese speaking culture, but as with any language subject, parents do play a big part in creating the environment besides school time. BTW, my son took Higher Chinese subject & able to score merit during the PSLE.

Value wise, in my view is good, so far kids behaving well ..

Result wise, last year average PSLE T-score is ~210, 24 pupils got > 250.. 77% eligible for Express

SJI, yes it’s affiliated sec school, pupils has some discounted PSLE T-score to enter.. but only for O-level, not for IP, IP needs at least > 250

As of 'open house', normally end of the year, there will have annual carnival... you can drop by to take a look ..

Do PM me if you want more information.

My son is in P1. Were they streamed for chinese because some go to a different class for chinese lessons. If so, how are the children streamed and what are the differences between the different chinese classes?

Hi anyone will be registering in Phase 2C? We are within 1km, with the fewer vacancies left compared to last year, it looks like most likely have to ballot for SC<1km.

It also depends on 2B. Any leftover will be brought over to 2C, so breathe easy.

There's normally a camp for P5s. At least they did when DC were in P5.

Could anyone advice what time does the balloting happen for if it comes to that for phase 2C. Need to know so that I can arrange to be off work.

Hi balloting for phase 2C is scheduled on 5 Aug (Wed). Are you less than 1km? Anxiously waiting for tonight MOE's update on the 2B registration number to gauge the chances of balloting for 2C :xedfingers:
