Thanks Shizta, this is very helpful. The Cherie Heart after-school care @ Bukit Purmei is full. Luckily her current nanny is willing to help us take care of her.

You are welcome :). If you are still keen in after-school care, I think the PAP one at Telok Blangah CC is still available. School bus will drop them outside the CC

          Dear CHIJ Kellock Parents,

Would appreciation if you could share with me your view of this school. The environment, the teachers, the principal, curriculum, etc etc. Is it tough 😐 ??

          Million thanks

            Hi,

Just wanted to join in. My dd starts next year (2011) at Kellock but we live in Upper Bukit Timah. I know its far but Kellock’s my old school. We’re renting at the moment so hopefully we can move closer May next year when our lease expires.

Would also like to hear about the current situation at school.

            Thanks.

              Hi all,

I called the bookshop today and the lady told me that they dont use any textbook for Maths for Pri1. I find that difficult to believe! Could any parents of P1 or older girls please share what, if anything, is used for Maths for P1?
Or, if nothing structured is used, then do you supplement with any book at home? Which are the better ones? TIA.

Also, for English, the bookshop lady said they use My Grammar Handbook (small red colour book $3.75). I was not able to locate any such book in Popular. Could someone please give details of which English textbooks/workbooks are used for P1?

              TIA
              ~ Nan

Hello… My gal is in P1 this year. Frankly speaking, I can’t give much comments about whether this sch is good or not as I do not have an opportunity to compare CHIJ Kellock with another sch. But one thing I am sure is that my gal loves it there. The teachers and principal are very friendly and nice. My gal is quite shy but she has no problem approaching them at all. Amount of homework is reasonable.

As for no Maths and English textbook, I was quite worried at first too. I was wondering how am I going to teach her if there is nothing for me to reference to. But now, I have no such worry cos for Maths, they do provide parents with a "guide" on the Maths syllabus and everyday, they come home with Maths worksheet for homework. From there, we know what are they learning in the class. For English, there are plenty of worksheets as well.

                  Hi,

Need to check with current parents if there’s any "colour code" for schoolbags, watches, hairbands etc for the school ?

I remembered previously when studying there, its black or dark blue hairbands / rubber bands only. Can’t remember abt the rest.
                  Has anything changed ?

No colour codes for bags, but no trolley bags are allow. Not sure about watches. For hairbands, need to be either white or black.

                      Hi,

Any parents sent their dd to student care? How is the arrangement like? Please share how is your daily routine like? Does the school bus send your child to the student care? How much is the fees?

                      Thanks!
