Hi OrangeBelt, Im new to Kiasu forum… anyway am planning to register my boy for Beacon but I saw tt u’ve transf ur your out in P4. That got me worried. Why? Is it coz of the sch? Cld u share more?.. Thks

My primary concern is that the sch hasn’t bn tried & tested in the PSLE yet… wondering if the curriculum is strong enuf 2 prepare them for PSLE… also heard that dey dun giv much home wk there… not tt i want my boy to b overwhelmed with HW but if it’s not enuf it’s oso worrying ah… was the curriculum one of ur reasons?

How to become a PV in beacon? Will they accept all the PV like BPPS?

Just write in to the school. If I remember right, you are already late for the 2012 registration.

When I did PV there, I just sent an email to them. They then called me up and asked me what I would like to contribute and I filled the form in the school itself. Why don't you send the school an email and see if they get back to you, or maybe one of these days just drop in and meet them.


In your case, you can do one or more of the following - Learning Support Programme (reading daily except tuesday from 8:20 - 8:50), recess duties, traffic duty outside the school. If you have the time then the best way to rack up hours is to do chaperone duties - they do quite a bit of learning journeys plus the P1 swimming. It adds up hours real fast. Then there is the P1 registration itself - 3 days can make up almost half your 40 hours.
