Oh dear. What is the teacher's name? My girl is alr in P3 this year. So far she has good experiences with all her teachers and friends.

Hi Lock i do not know the name of the teacher but will let you know when i do! My girl also likes the school very much apart from this episode! How do you rate the standard of english in this school?

Personally I feel that the English STD is higher than the Chinese. Over the past 2 yrs, d sch gave a lot of maths worksheets for practice. For English, there weren’t many worksheets but d tr did ask d class to buy grammar assessment to be done in class.

On d whole, I wld say the English std is above average.

Oh dear... pls find out the MT teachers name and share with us..thats a horrid thing to do to a P1 !!!
The standard of EL in the school is about the same as the other convents overall but it also depends on the teacher...my daughter is in P4 this year and has a wonderful teacher with a excellent command of ENGLISH. Last year in P3 she had a Miss Lye...EXCELLENT !! she made the girls learn new words daily and use 'big' words in class encouraging them to do so too

Have you all read the letter dated 15/1 from principal reagarding supplementary classes?

My girl in P2 this year. Am I correct to say the supplementary is for all girls? Is it complusory? Do your girls have suppl classes last year? Useful?

I’m so sorry I asked so many questions cos I’m so frustrated with the 2 additional days that my girl needs to stay back in school. Personally, I don’t believe in this suppl/remedial classes cos the girls are tired i the pm. I just feel that it’s counter productive!!!

yup , just read the letter.. my daughter is in P4H this year...
to ans your questions..
no it is NOT compulsory ..and this is the first time we have received such a letter.

I usually think of it as tuition To be very honest it all depends on the teacher(weather or not its worth while to go) for the past 3 yrs my daughters teacher taught them things that were diff from class and very interesting and new ways to do math..
So far, on Supp days they don't get much hw so thats a plus...
Since P1 my daughter has not said /complained abt being tired ..unless your girl usually takes naps
And i have to admit..unlike some other IJ's ours provides the 4pm school bus..so thats good. Most of them (IJ TP n some others ) dont even have Supp classes only remedial.
Think of it as free tuition!!!1
