little doggie:
Hi.Hi
m considering to enrol my son to HPPS (cos my hb is ex-student) but i m staying in Jurong west area. Have a few question hope mummies can advise me:
1. Can i know if there is any student care nearby.
2. How far away is the mrt to the school?
3. Pri 1 & 2 school time is 1pm - 6.30pm?
4. if there is CCA or kids need to stay back, how is the school bus arrangement?
Thanks in advance
1. In my impression, I seem to have seen the signboard of a student care centre when I passed by the Ghim Moh housing estate. Not sure if it's still operating or not.
2. I don't think it's possible for your child to walk to the MRT from school. Nearest MRT should be Dover if you cut through the canal but it's not within sight of the school. Otherwise, maybe just take a bus and walk to Buona Vista MRT.
3. The school is now located at their holding site near to Ghim Moh. But it's announced that they will move back to their original site next yr June after expansion and reno is done to cater for single session school.
When will your child be registering for admission?
4. For CCA, I've asked the bus operator b4. Not sure if it's still the same arrangement. The kid has to pay additional on top of the regular school bus transport. CCA usually end at around 5 pm.

Hi lesmay,
thanks for answering my question
(3) m registering this year, so tmr is the last day for phase 2a2, else i will be registering for phase 2c for jurong west schools.
(4) cca - only from primary 3 then have cca rite? so the bus driver will pick them up at 5pm? cca will it be only once weekly or more than that?
thanks -
little doggie:
If you r registering for next year intake, P1 & P2 will still be in afternoon session for next year. Not sure whether they will converted to morning session after Jun. Cos the school is moving back once construction is completed.Hi lesmay,
thanks for answering my question

CCA start from P1 onwards but not compulsory. Frequency also depends on the kind of CCA you choose. Sports probably will have higher frequency than clubs & society.
My DD is in the school sports team so she goes at least 3 to 4 x per wk.

Welcome to HPPS.
Just to add on to lesmay,
even though the school is moving back to original site in June 2013 the single session is likely to start in 2015 only. This was informally told by the FT early this year so not finalised yet.

One CCa is compulsory from P3. Children are allowed to take CCAs from P1. Usually there is bus everyday (I think) however the time taken may be much longer because one bus will cater to some of routes as the number of children taking the CCA bus is lesser. -

thanks for the additional info.
Can i know for pri 1 and pri 2, the school hours are fixed? 12.35pm - 6.30pm? (except for wed is 1.15pm - 6.30pm?) since there are no complusory CCA.
Will there be enrichment lesson they need to attend?
Single session is what kind of timing?
are u staying at Jurong west area?

Anyone registering their children in Henry Park? Received the acknowledgement slip that the orientation is on 19 Nov 2012 at 8.30am.
Yup just got the mail on Wednesday. -
Hi guys, just wanted to know if anyone know how many parent volunteers do they roughly have per year for HPPS? My girl is registering in Phase 2B this year and it seems like competition is tough that there will be only 18 spaces for this group of parents.
In additional, if we are not successful in Phase 2B in balloting in Phase 2B, do we have to register again for 2C? -

Hi
Are you grassroots or PV? Do you stay within 1Km? From
Another thread I read is 14 PV, 3 are PR.
If you stay within 1Km and you are not successful, you can try again in phase 2C. But I think there will be more people registering than in 2B.sweethong72:
