Hi BigDevilVooVoo:
What is generally the marks for Top 5 of each class - P1, P2? Close to 100%?
Depends.
DD was top 5 last year in her P2 class (289/300). Later we found out that she would be at best 7th or 8th in another class.
My DD score (288/300) but did not make it to Top 5. She was 6th or 7th in her class, I asked her FT but did not want to disclose her actual position only said she is around 6th or 7th position. -

Like what BigD said, it depends on which class your child is in... ie if your child is in a class with academically stronger students, it would be harder to be in top 5. In other words, don't need to be overly concerned about whether top 5 or not. -
Yep...Busymom's DD and my DD are lucky while 8228's is not.
So don't be too concern whether your child is top 5 or not.
Now that my DD is in P3 HA class, can tell that some kids
are really academically strong. So we already told DD there is
no pressure to try to get top 5.
But we did tell her we hope she can get the new
yet-to-be-named \"moral\" award.

For NYGH, is the cut-off point for NYPS girls always 250 or it changes each year?
-
.
-
It had been 250 for the past 4 years (2009 - 2012).
-
:thankyou: verykiasu2010 and BigDevil.
If I remember correctly, someone in this forum said more than 40% of NYPS students score 250 or above each year. Assuming half are girls, about 20% girls can join NYGH if they choose to do so.
