Chief, we've got it all planned out for you!

Haha yah, we're so helpful! Hee..

Btw if a K2 kid has a P6 sibling during the year of registration, I think she can still qualify under phase1...

DS1 is in P1 this year. Enjoying school so far. :xedfingers: No complaints about school or teachers. Just that classmates seem to like to borrow & mutilate his stationery - namely erasers. Had replaced umpteen erasers since school started..... πŸ˜„

        Hi mickeyhmh!
Hehe, my first question to a NY parent... Does your son have a lot of homework?

That's what I would like to find out too!
My DD is entering NYPS next year.

Yes they can, my friend told me her girl in sec but she could enrol her P1 in the same school.

P1s does not have that much homework... more like going thru K2 again for them... no formal exams till year end.... only 1 exam for whole year in Oct...

                  Hi clarabella & BigDevil

No, my son hardly brings any homework back. Seems quite relaxed. He didn't have SA1, so will need to see how he performs in SA2.

                  hmsg,

Yeah, my son sometimes tell me 'too easy'. He had learnt in Kindy before. πŸ˜„

A lot of CCAs to choose from. Musical groups - orchestra, strings, dance, choir - seem to have more followings/competitions/awards. Depends on your kid's interest. For P1&P2, it's mainly enrichments. Mine is in Chess club. Wanted to join Aikido - but class cancelled due to insufficient participants. 😒 Thinking of joining Choir next year 😐

Any NYPS kiddo staying in Punggol/Hougang?

Is there any school bus & how long is the ride?

My first choice is Maris Stella due to distance but quite sure we can’t get in.

And my SILLY HB just realised he was from NYPS, which means our son will have higher chance of getting into NYPS. Sigh, he only tell me NOW, after I’ve been stressed by my parents to start PV to get my son into Maris!

But I’m worried about DISTANCE. Anyone staying in Hougang/Punggol area with kids in NYPS? Care to share the school bus fees & the travelling time?

I was just checking out the CCA page at NYPS' website:
                      http://www.nyps.moe.edu.sg/

Looks like most of the sports and performing arts groups are for >P2 or upper primary kids. String ensemble requires Grade 3 violin.

Wow... you've been sitting on a gold mine all this time without realizing it huh? πŸ™‚ Good for you that you found out in time. Maybe you should consider moving to Bukit Timah?
