      wyq:

So to be sure, I have to call the school to confirm whether I am eligible for PV in NYPS because I am staying >2km? Is it worth being a PV in this care? thanks!
      Hi wyq,

Yes, best to call up the school : clarify if they do accept PV applicants or not, for those staying outside 2 km.

Last time, I have a friend who studied at Nanyang Girls' High before (NYGH was her ex Secondary school), but her ex primary school wasn't NYPS. But she really wanted her daughter to study in NYPS, very much. So, she applied to be a PV. In the end, she was luckily selected to be a PV, even though she stayed beyond 2 km. But that was last time, years ago. Now not sure, if things have changed, or not.

Is the PV worth it ?
      Think the answer is subjective.

If your child is a daughter : it is worth it, if your daughter can get in, after clocking at least 80 hours of PV work, since NYPS girls are affliated to NYGH, provided can meet their Affliation Cut-off-point requirements, which come under the new AL PSLE scheme, for your daughter's case.

If your child is a son : because no affliation to Hwa Chong, the opinion is subjective : although a number of parents still very much love the strong school culture and the thick, rich, decades of historical ambience plus the conducive SAP environment, here.

GEP results are out today. Does anyone know when META invites are out?

It used to be that all the kids who passed the screening (first) round would automatically be in the META classes. Has that changed?

I don't think so. It's the 2-5% identified by MOE at the 2nd Round. So pass 1st round (top 10%) but not in top 5% will not be in META. And there's a cap of 70 students in META.

And also must meet the COP for HCL. 😓
come to think of it, this means the school knows the 'marks' of the screening results in order to identify the top 5%?

                  Yes, they know.
It's already mentioned that they will use the screening results for selection of the Meta students.

Don’t know how true - this year around 12-13 pupils in the 4 HA classes passed Round 2. Anyone else heard otherwise?

                      Hi,

Can any parents here advise me on the traffic situation in the morning at NYPS if I drive my son from Jurong West? How long will the journey take? Thank you.

Only know of 1 out of the 4 HA classes, has 6 who cleared. 12-13 sounds unusually low to me.
