Kids compare the latest hp...for eg iphone 3GS, 4, 4S. Soon it will be iphone 5.

My son uses the basic model...no camera...like NS men.

Kids also compare which country they went for holidays. It doesn't help when the teacher ask the students to draw the places they visited during June holidays.

If handful did not go overseas during the holidays, they will feel it...especially younger ones. Sometimes, I think the teacher should be sensitive by not asking kids to draw places they have visited overseas. In any case, it's hard to avoid but we have to teach our kids never to feel inferior when others mentioned excitedly they have visited Hong Kong, Japan or US.

          Hi FQW,

It’s nice to hear it personally from your 8 year old that his teacher has asked class to describe either local or overseas place of interest.
I would love to draw a snowman, but I’ve not seen a real one before. Going to see or make one would mean I have to be in a plane for 13-15 hours.

Yes, it can be local or overseas. Unfortunately the assignment topic happens to provide another opportunity for students to compare.
Nevertheless be it local or overseas, it's the learning experience that matters. Gotta tell our child not to feel inferior.

Please chant doubly harder since the places are now halved. Hee Hee. Anyone thinking of balloting P2C in another school for better chance?

Hi, it depends on the class. My girl in P3 this year, one day came back and asked us why we don't stay in condo. Her class only 2 persons staying in HDB. So you can see that kids are comparing such things at a young age.

Makes me wonder how did they know only 2 stay in HDB flats. Do the children go around the class asking each other?

So sad that nowadays kids at a tender age are already so conscious of their social class status..

Jokes aside, I guess Bt timah pri does not need to ballot under phase 2c right?

I think we own it to our kids to let them understand that whatever we did/didn't do for them, we've done our best as parents, based on what we know. Just like our own parents have done their best for us, based on what they knew.

Anyway between staying in a condo with totally hands-off parents and a HDB with parents who're always there for us, I know as a kid what I'll prefer.
