reason given by the parents:E3:
came back from the meeting with P. S-banding may not be carried out because most of the top classes parents against it. so there will be normal 4 top classes(1-40, 41-80 and so on).
Thanks S6169 for info. Back to square one for class allocation? I quite like the proposed method actually. It's a good change. P2 parents were more receptive last Fri evening.
1. friends will be separate.
2. one of the mummy gave an example: One Ds in Ch3 and one DS in Fa2. although Ch and Fa are only next door, but the student in these two classes are very different. one only talk about study and the other always talk about cartoons. So they can't be mixed.
last time, Patience kids got hurt...now, if both Faith kids & their parents hear the message, they are going to get hurt too...... -

Rather Surprise A \"REASON\" Like that Can B Accepted .... :?
we are back to sq 1....CH can't mix with FA, what excuse was that...parents are very demanding....i knew that it wouldn't be that smooth sailing in the implementation....
So Next Time in the Working Life, We Must Preserve the \"PURITY\" of our Class by Having ....
MBA Room - For those Who has Attain MBA Only ....
Engineer Room - For \"Pure\" Engineers Only (Cannot Mix with Arty- Farty Type) ....
etc ????
Thought the Whole Idea of the Exercise is to \"MIX-and MATCH\", B Compassionate / Tolerant of People coming from Different Class / Ability and Recognise that EveryOne is Different ....
Guess its TOO HOLISTIC, and the POOR Kid Who Dare Not Say she's From Patience Class Will Just Have to Remain SO until she's Out OF PH .... -
Funx3:
Only if my dd goes through thatU Gonna Take On the Challenge Person-nally?
if he continue his act and parents continue to complain, there will be more report to write .. so they will have no choice but intervene ultimately.
However, there is a caveat. He must be in the wrong
If it is our owwn dd/ds at fault, then that is a diff story. -
php:
Personally I still think it is a good method and should be implemented.we are back to sq 1....CH can't mix with FA, what excuse was that...parents are very demanding....i knew that it wouldn't be that smooth sailing in the implementation....
btw, NYPS did something similiar to PH's proposed system. their top 4 classes S-banded and the rest of the classes are similar to PH.
I foresee 2 possible scenario:
1. They delayed the upper primary and implemented it in lower primary since it sounds like the lower primary parents are more receptive.
2. They keep the existing setup for the top 4 class and implement the new system on the rest of the classes.
S-band will still take place across the whole level as i nthe current setup. -
php:
Aiyoh, My Gal is in FAITH Class, So Both of US \"GOT HURT\" ALready ....
last time, Patience kids got hurt...now, if both Faith kids & their parents hear the message, they are going to get hurt too......
As Mentioned B4, My Gal is a Fervant, DIE HARD Supporter of FAITH Class ....
Now to Think About It, Since she's been in Faith since P3,
BOTH of US GOT HURT, GOT HURT, GOT HURT - THRICE .... Ouch Ouch Ouch ....
And IF She is In FAITH Class Next Year (Presuming No Change in Class Name), URGHHHHHHH....
We R Gonna GET HURT ONE MORE Time .....    -

After few days accompanying son in the hospital, I realized some professions require lots of dedication. Nurses and doctors. They must really be caring and that dedication...comes from the heart. It is not a job...there must be genuine concern for patients. Same goes for teaching. Of course, with everyday routine, it's hard to show compassion. But since one has chosen to be in that industry, there is a need for consistency.

No Need to Break His Rice Bowl - lah!!!!
He's Not Really a Bad Sort, Just Not Very \"Teach-Able\" ....
But for a teacher to behave this way is bad example for the kids.
Other professions can give more chance but not those that teach our next generation.
My son was bleeding from a laceration right inside the gum after the op...the 2 incompetent doctors came to see him in the ward, pat son's head and left :x Fortunately a nurse trained in cleft/plastic came to see him later and she was the one who stopped the bleeding. She was the one who called the incompetent doctor to return to the hospital, ordered the drip and use a special gel to stop the bleeding. If not for her, this case might be in the newspapers. I am truly grateful to her. -

I don’t know whether all P3 parents are aware of this. I didn’t attend the session but according to one of my friends, she said that the P3 stds are going to stream according to their Math scores. Not EL, as she said marks too close, not CL - marks too far apart, SC - didn’t even consider this subj. Left Math as it has a more wider score spectrum. And true enough, my dd’s class has a Math test today.( no warning to parents at all :x ), exam over and suddenly before school closed has to sit for such test. A real damper! to some kids. This P really needs to sit down and think wisely before implementing something like this which impact every level. I don’t know whether other classes have such test.

In life we are bound to experience separations, making new friends, & learning to respect & accept people's preferences. And I would think primary school is the best place where we should encourage kids to start cultivate such life skills.
