Hi SAHM Chew, I went to the briefing last Thursday afternoon. The presenters highlighted their focus on holistic education as opposed to purely academic. They also explained that the first term is a "practice" term for P1 students and their academic performance in Term 1 does not have any impact on their overall marks for P1.


They said the presentation will be posted on the DLSS website but they haven’t done so as of today.

Hi all, encountered some disappointment and would like to share with all.


1) Music books handed in to music teacher and the next week it was gone and requested my son to buy a new book. Call the school, requested to speak to this music teacher, it have been more than a week… nobody call me.

2) My son takes school bus 7 to school. The school changed the school bus transport company to " Richard Leong transport" in 2013. Poor school bus service we get from them.

There was once, i requested the driver to send my son to my mum’s place as nobody was at home, I msg the driver, he said ok but as usual send my son back home which nobody is at home to open the door for him.

Our pick up time to school is 7:25 am every morning. We will wait at our void deck at 7:20 am. Then at about 7:25 am, we will walk to the roadside, the pick up point to wait for the bus. Yesterday morning, as usual at about 7:25 am, we started walking to the roadside. At this moment, the bus came. My son quickly run towards the bus… The bus driver did not prepare to stop at the pick up point. He just went off. We have to chase for the bus, the bus then stop suddenly a distance away from the pick up point and a car behind him nearly hit onto the bus.
I think the driver is very irresponsible and created a dangerous situation for the students on board the bus and also other road users. This was the second time we chase for the bus. The void deck we are waiting for the bus is very near to the pick up point. The driver will be able to see us either we are waiting at the void deck or at the pick up point (road side). Just don’t understand, why he is not preparing to stop when he already know he needs to pick up student there.

Hi Flyaway, have you spoken to the bus driver? It is better to tell him personally than to text him. After-all, you are there with your kiddo when he comes round to pick your child. It is not easy to remember all requests and with so many passengers to handle. It is also good if your child, as soon as he boards the bus, reminds the driver. Sometimes a little self help may be necessary.
