Thanks mummies for info on Chinese spelling. Hurray, only HYPY. I think poor kids still need sometime to adjust to primary journey.
Btw, dd in 1E confirmed that during CL lesson she always joins 1D and get to see her old friends. -

Heyya baby2momma, if you recall... i once shared that my studentsand....i'm a FTWM too and I also check my son's
bag after school everyday....but u guys r right...
there has not been much homework...wonder
if it is DLS style..... :?
that come to me for enrichment programmes... their mommies gave
me feedback that DLS promotes the Teach Less Learn More style....
and hence some of them who have made less preps in terms of pre-
school readiness faced some problems.
For my DDs' school, they started the Stellar Literacy for English periods
as compared to the IN-Step structured syllabus so to maintain stability
and continuation to what i've been supplementing her at home, i purchase
the My Pals English handbook for P1/P2 and a couple of the workbooks i
deem challenging for my DD2. For instance, i find the Vocabulary book a
little too easy for her so i skip it.
For my students' parents in DLS they mostly come streaming in search
for enrichment programmes when they realise that their children can't
actually read fluently nor write effectively by the first exam which was
then the SA1. And since the school adopts the Teach Less scheme, they
grumble that their children also learn less. Not for all definitely. For those
children who are relatively prepared from attending childcare or preschool
prior to attending P1, they thrive and enjoy the environment of Teach
Less. They find it fun and less stressful that lessons aren't necessarily
seated activity or written activity. It could be project based or theme
based for example. I dunno whether they still have the SA1 exams in
place now though..
Mebbe more experienced parents from DLS can help clarify... I'm just
sharing what little i know from past students and their parents.
Not much help i'm afraid.

Dear Baby2momma: Your son so cute, ha ha ha!
Can i check with you for the outing day, the kid no need to bring any books to school right? thatโs mean will be no lessons carry out? -
Good morning all mummies,
Yup, buds, read yr other postings
on MIL issues & know what u r going
thru...can only say, keep it up lady!
again, 3 cheers for u !!!! :celebrate:
And for Anna's question, yes, no lessons
carried out on the day of outing.
Just follow the teacher's instructions to
bring the small bag, water bottle, snacks,etc....
They go to school & knock off from school
at the normal hours.....the only thing different
is no studies for the kids. My son came back
feeling very happy after the excursion.....

I just back fr business trip, can anyone share with me some important points for last fridayโs briefing?
Anna -
hey anna,
anyway, DLS taught us how to use the E-learning portal
found from DLS webpage....I think y'day all the P1 kids
rec'd the E-learning portal training form already so they
r more or less wary of how to use. The slides for the
briefing on Friday has been posted on the portal so all
parents can view it now. Maybe u shld take a look at
the portal & then u would know wat the school
presented to us last Fri.
Additionally, we also went to take a peek in our
child's class & observed how their form teacher
conducts a class......it was pretty interesting....
Let me know if u don't know the password to get into
the portal....
