Is the school confirmed going on full single session by 2016?

Isn't 2016 the deadline set by MOE for all schools to go single session?

the deadline is for all government schools. Maha Bodhi is a government aided school and so they have more time to transit to single session. So just wondering when will their expansion project starting next year be completed and if it will be ready by 2016. Asking cos I thought of registering my girl there in 2016 but the session may kind of affect our decision...
The expansion will start from which month next year? Does the students need to shift to any holding area somewhere during the project?

I recall that last year or the year before, the school issued a letter to parents informing that the expansion work will start in Dec 2013 and completed in end 2015. So this probably means that they will go single session in 2016. The students will not move out as this is a relatively new school (in fact they just moved back to this new sch mid 2009 I think). I recall the letter says that they will block off access to the construction area. I can't find my leter now. Perhaps you want to write to the school to confirm.

Hi everyone 😄 well...what I can say is that it's PSLE standard is dropping ... Not even a 275and above this year... The highest is 274 but still well done :smiles: it is affiliated with manjusri secondary school. The school is very bad !!! No offense . I once saw 3 of the students climb over the fence during school hours! 2 were wearing the school uniform and one was not!!!the security guard in their saw it but did not do anything! The mbs students at the bus stop cheered when they made their escape ...

There are good and bad students in every school, even in the best school in Singapore. Hence, just need to maintain a close watch on your kids, whether they are in bad company etc.

For this year's PSLE, I heard that 117 students can make it to SAP Sec school. Maybe some PSLE parents can verify that. That is like 36% of cohort? Personally I was quite happy to hear that as that means my dd might have the chance of making it to a SAP sec school next year if she consistently put in effort. I am seeing hope 😉

IMO, I think entire cohort performance is more important than 1 or 2 individual/ or just a specific class that top the school. As this might mean that the school is only focusing on top students and not the rest. As a parent, I would prefer the school not to neglect the average/ below average kids. Sometimes, it's really beyond the parents' control as to the kids we will be get. I've witnessed my dd's pal who is good academically but the brother is the other extreme (as he struggles to pass). I feel that it's beyond the parent's control sometimes... My nephew from a top pri school in serangoon area sat for PSLE this year. His score is less than ideal. So I come to a conclusion that it doesn't mean that you send the child to a top school, the child can definitely get good results for PSLE... too many factors to consider.

In any school, there are the good and bad. I think this is not just MBS. I recalled that someone I know whose ds is in a top pri in bishan told me that his ds got punished because they went to nearby private estate and broke the glass of one landed house, etc...

My ds is in a very mischevious class for the past 2 years. We are like headache as have to ensure that he don't follow the behaviour. In addition, those mischevious ones don't affect the class progress. Case where one boy beat the other. Ds and some mates witnessed and stop the \"fight\" and had to act as the eye witness... Their FT promised to split them up in P5. But i also heard from other P4 parents their class have fair share of such kids too...

Sometime this year, 2 boys from ds's class \"vandalised\" a P5 class (happened to be my dd's class). These 2 boys were made to clean up the P5 class and they had to apologise individually to each and everyone in the P5 class. So yes, they did not get away from it.

I heard for those \"naughty\" ones in his class (quite a no.), they had to go to the principal's office during recess on a daily basis for a certain period of time. I know they also drive the FT nuts..... How??? Blame the school? :? Or blame the parents or.... Some kids are more easily influenced and more playful. As parents, we can only guide our kids accordingly. Ds knows that once FT calls us to complain, we will not let him off easily. So he better think twice on his actions.

On the bright side, i feel that MBS does have fairly wide range of CCAs that might be in line with the MOE’s new thinking of we should not narrowly develop the child academically only. Kids should have other exposure, etc… I think MBS is well position to offer that.

Hi… My girl’s school bus uncle just called!!! $100 for two way, $80 for one way…

Quite ok price. But he will pick up my girl at 11.05. I find that a little early.
