\"First steps to music\" is meant for AES (aesthetics skill) which they will learn music, dance and arts. Today I received a letter from FT informing me that for the 1st 5 weeks of this term, my child will learn music during AES. Subsequent weeks ranging from 6th to 10th weeks of the term, they will teach Art. I'm not sure whether this arrangement is same for all classes, you might want to confirm again with your child FT if you did not receive such letter.lil flanders:
The enrichment program is priced very competitive. Am impressed by English literacy provider, with so many schools in their list. It'll be great to hear some feedbacks from 'older' children's parents who send them.
Need to know for the book 'first steps to music' is required for which subject session on the timetable? Trying to know so that not to bring it everyday cos the schoolbag will be heavy if too loaded.
Thanks. -
Wow it's really good to see so many P1 parents here to make this thread so lively :boogie:
Will try to answer some of the questions. I realised I am suffering from memory loss.... must be getting old....
Timetable is usually for the entire year. Sometimes there may be changes but usually not the norm.
CT = Contact time. I think it is the time teachers spent communicating with the kids on non-academic basis???? Any experienced parents here might want to share more.
CCA is usually available later on when the dust settles.
Wk 2 - supplementary/remedial lessons CMP/VE/CCA - FYI especially for upper primary students where they have supplementary classes. It's to indicate if those classes and CCA have resumed so the child must stay back.[/quote]
:thankyou: beside PSG, here really another way of support. Gather information.... :imcool: -

Contact time is when all the teachers in the school go for a mid-week meeting. The lower primary children will sit in the MPH and learn something about value education from the da ai mama. The upper primary children will be dismissed.
In other schools, where they have the CT, the PVs come up with programs like craft making etc to fill up the time.

My P2 got those forms as well yesterday. These programmes are run by external vendors. Eg. the chinese creativity mining class is by Han Language.kittygoesblue:

So far, I never put my 3 kids through those programmes as they have other enrichment classes outside school. -

I think my P1 learnt guzheng last year during one of the terms. The older were also exposed to indian dance, malay kompang?, cornet in their \"lower primary\" years. -
I also received the forms for the chinese and eng enrichment classes for Saturday. I think I will sign him up for them first and see how it goes. My son also attends I Can Read on Sundays so I may drop him from that, depending on how it pans out. But I will definitely sign him up for the CL enrichment class as he is really lousy in CL.

Understand that the Buddha books are required during CME lessons and they will either be using the Chinese Dai De Jiao Yu or the Buddha books.hellokittyspore:

How does the child know which book to bring for each CME session as there are 2 sessions per week. -
they will write in the journal book, what to bring, etc.
my daughter class did not ask her to bring the buddha book.
She only need to bring CME book for CME lesson.
The teacher asked the students to write in the journal book as a note for the parents to see. -
Hi people
can I check that your kids do not bring back any english books/maths/chinese right? Coz i believe they have had quite a number of lessons since last wednesday and tho’ the above 3 subjects are taught everyday, they don’t bring home the books so I have no idea what they have learnt.
