Montfort Junior
-
Hello everyone, thinking of transferring my boy in P1 to this school, though itโs further from my house. This school is quite low profile and was not on my radar until recently. Quite impressed with the school website and seems the boys are having lots of fun.
Hope to hear more feedback from parents with children in this school and what time does the school start? -
Could someone please advise on the school bus pick up time from Punggol and return time in the afternoon? Thanks.

Hi all, I'm considering to enroll my son to MJS. Would like to know more about this school in terms of academic, teachers and school environment. This school does not seem to have good impression with many parents whom I know. Can any parent share with me their views? Thanks

Anyone here??
Hi jsdarkangel,
First of all, welcome to the Montfort family. I have two boys in there and I must admit I don't regret at all transferring them from a so-called better school. The principal is caring, teachers are among the most hardworking ones I've known and yes, parental involvement is always encouraged. On the first day, all parents will be briefed and invited to join the MJPC(montfort junior parents connection), and it IS a VERY active group ! Involvement includes sports day, racial harmony day , and almost every other thing. There's also a Father's Wing where dads play sports, camp and go outings with the boys.
Meanwhile you can check out the MJPC facebook page to have a rough idea... In addition if you are a Catholic, you are welcomed to join the boys for mass every first Friday.
Volunteer work for volunteers include helping with the reading programme, tending to the Lego room among others.
Don't worry, there's plenty to be involved about! All those negative rumors about the school started from one or two incidents at the secondary school and it affected the junior's reputation severely. As for academics, like all other schools, it really depends on how hard the children wants to work and how much support they receive at home. There are quite a number of boys who ended up in reputable secondary schools which surprises me too
at the end of the day, they tightened discipline In the school and I must stress, the teachers there are just SO wonderful. The standard may not be so high as compared to other schools but this is in line with the school's vision to balance study and play. Of course, no one's stopping anyone if you want to push your child that little bit further
Good luck! And once again, a big welcome to all new parents! -
