      Hi starlight1968sg,

Thank you for sharing your side of the story... the homework does sound reasonable.. not sure which class your child is but maybe like you mentioned it is the class.. as vk2010 did mention that he was referring to his son's cousin who is in the best class...and they mentioned top class is where the 'mindless' drilling is...
Yah, maybe those parents of kids in 'R' or 'U' classes can share their experience.

My dd is now in p5.

For this hols, she has 1 EL compo, 1 CL compo, 1 Sc revision paper, 1 MA revision paper, 1 EL revision paper and a drawing.
Is this considered MINDLESS drilling or too much homework for a week's break?
Note that SA 2 is just round the corner.

That's not a lot imo. Could be done in a weekend. Btw, how come no CL revision, keke. Maybe more parents can contribute for a more balanced discussion πŸ˜„ .

I think is quite a lot and impossible to finish ALL in a weekend. Maybe my dd is slow; she is still doing some of them and I think she needs a couple of days more ie by Wed, should get them all done. The rest of the sch hols will be spent to do a couple of revision of papers on weaker subjects and prepare for oral exam.

Yes, in p5 onwards, the top 3 classes will be R, U and L; R being the best among the top 3 classes.

                  I think the classes are R, U, L, A, N, G, S, C and H. After R, U and L, the rest will be mixed.

                        RRMummy,
Nope, ds not going Rulang, ds going PH. But I know a few parents from ds's kindy whose elder kids are in Rulang. They tell me the teachers will encourage the students to qualify for 'R' & 'U' classes. That's why I know these 2 are the top classes in Rulang.

                        vk2010,
I used to stay opposite Rulang too. So we were once neighbours?
