Mine ds chose (in order of preference) Badminton, rope skipping, volley ball and lastly Archery…

        All sports!!
He said there is CCA orientation booth this Friday for them to try out (More like screening process I think…)

Yes, there is some screening process for some sports. For eg, dd wanted to join badminton so that she could learn how to play. In the end, she was rejected because she could not even hold the racket properly. She was utterly disappointed. She is now with Softball and enjoys playing it. The teacher even asked if she wanted to join the school team.

            Hi Parents with p1 kids,

I hope your kids have settled well. For the last 2 days, dd's whole class was involved in the \"orientation\" for p1 kids. Dd looks after a girl from p1A.
Dd's p1 teacher, who is also one of her favourite teachers, is still teaching p1 this year! So sad in the sense that dd is already p6 but that teacher still remains in p1. But we all know that she (that teacher) is very experienced in handling the p1 kids.
            Enjoy your p1 days! :celebrate:

              Hi starlight1968sg

The last 2 days have been great, thanks much to the great buddy DD1 has.

But come tomorrow, I don't know if she is going to cope in the canteen especially... πŸ™

Can PM which teacher are you referring to? Thanks πŸ˜‰

Dont worry as I think the recess time is staggered ie p1 will have their own recess and p2 another slot for the recess. In this way, the number of kids in the canteen is reduced. Also, most lower pri kids are more interested in playing than eating in the canteen.

Hi starlight1968sg, thanks for your concern, my DD is doing fine with the great help from a sweet P6 girl who brought her around the school. But today is the last day, she still duno the way to the canteen and back to her classroom 😞

btw, do they have a buddy in class to go for recess together? Not sure if my DD is taught by your DD's favourite teacher? My DD just said her Chinese teacher is very fierce...

I hope parents can understand that the teachers have to put up a fierce front to control the class. Some kids are really playful and if the teachers are not fierce on the first day, discipline can be an issue very soon.

                      Hi gaagaa,

I suppose they have made some friends in class and would likely move around together... go recess together..

Duno my gal can decide what to eat and which stall to buy from or not...

Will the choice of CCA affect selections of secondary school after their PSLE. I just want my DS join one which doesn't require him to stay back most of the days so it will not disturb his studies. πŸ˜“ Not sure better for him to join sports or uniform group. 😞
