Can anybody advise whether we should opt for higher Chinese even the teacher recommend only 4S for P5 next year? I understand you need to have HMT for entry into certain secondary schools. Also can we opt out the next year if really can’t make it. Will it affect overall results?
Hope to hear some advise. Thank you.

RE: Rulang Primary
When my ds told me he has to go to his friend's house for Science project work, I almost freak out :yikes: . They are grouped according to their index number. Project at friend's place for P3 level? I've wondered why can't they do it at school instead of travelling to friend's house. Any parents of P3 pupils have the same concerns?

Hi2cutis:
Please help :imdrowning: ,
We know 2 sq is 2x 2 and 2 cube is 2x2x2 but what's the solution
to 2 to the power of 50?
2 to power of 50
= 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 x ... x2 x 2
(50 '2's)
= 1024 x 1024 x 1024 x 1024 x 1024
= 1 petabyte
cheers. -

Thks starlight. How about the topics to revise ah? Will the teacher also inform us?
You can refer to the information booklet given to them in the beginning of the year. It is meant for parents' reference. Its quite a thick booklet which each subject info is printed in different color pages. It provides informations on what they'll be taught for the whole year and what will be tested during examinations. Go check it out. :celebrate: -

I've attended this PMT sessions twice. The form teacher will brief parents on their expectations for the student in terms of discipline, admin and standard. There will be NO chance to talk about your own kids.starlight1968sg:
but I am not sure whether it will be all the P1 children parents be meeting together or it will be class by class basis. If all together then it will be less likely the teacher can comment on each kid right? Anyone has any experience on this P1 meeting parent session? TIA.
The usual practice would be all p1 parents gather at the hall to listen speeches by P or VP or HODs. The respective form teachers would be there too. Later, parents will go to the desks where their kid's form teacher is seated. The form teacher will probably brief the parents. Some parents grabbed the chance to ask about the behaviour or concerns of their kid in the class/school.
You may try & squeeze in at the end for 1-1 session only if you want to let teacher know what to take note for your kiddo.
Else you can forget about hearing teacher commenting on your kids.
How much do you think they will understand your kids with only 1 week of interaction?
That's right! The only time you will have one to one session is when u go collect your child's report book after the SA1 in May. By then you can ask as much as you can. Don't paiseh. -

Will the choice of CCA affect selections of secondary school after their PSLE. I just want my DS join one which doesn't require him to stay back most of the days so it will not disturb his studies.
Yes, there is some screening process for some sports. For eg, dd wanted to join badminton so that she could learn how to play. In the end, she was rejected because she could not even hold the racket properly. She was utterly disappointed. She is now with Softball and enjoys playing it. The teacher even asked if she wanted to join the school team. :roll:ttyh:
Mine ds chose (in order of preference) Badminton, rope skipping, volley ball and lastly Archery...
All sports!!
He said there is CCA orientation booth this Friday for them to try out (More like screening process I think...)
Not sure better for him to join sports or uniform group.
