Form filling was done in the child's classroom after the talks at the school hall last year.

Received a letter from the school recently to go for forms filling on either these 3 dates (15 to 17 Oct) and also to purchase uniform. But my son will not be able to attend the orientation day as we are travelling overseas. I would appreciate those who will be going for the orientation day to feedback in this forum what is the whole orientation about. I called the school and was told that the textbook listing will be send to us and able to purchase online or bookstore.

Those who went for the orientation, can update me some info as I call up the school, can’t provide me any info except school start and end time.

Would like to have some information on the orientation day, some info my kid need to know, what to bring on first day of school etc, wear school uniform or PT attire, assembly point, parent able to go in canteen during first few days.

Hi,

Just to share. My girl wore the normal uniform and tie for the 1st day of school. She packed some exercise books, stationery and colour pencils in her bag. Since it’s the 1st day of school, don’t think the teachers will teach. Most likely will sort out stuff and hand out the student handbook and time table.

We just sent her to the appointed gate 3 which we had informed the school on form filling day. As she has a P5 buddy allocated to bring her around during recess, we did not turn up during recess to see how’s she’s doing.

I just received an email on PV application. It states that my wife and I must clock 40 hours in order to qualify Phase 2B. Does that mean we do NOT need to go for ballotting if we can clock 40 hours as PV?

Vacancies leftover from phase 1, 2A1 and 2A2 are divided up equally for 2B & 2C.


For example, if there are 50 vacancies allocated for 2B and there are more than 50 PVs/grassroots leaders registering in 2B, then there will be a ballot. But I think they will still see how many applicants fit the 1KM cut-off radius vs the # of vacancies, that sort of thing.

So far, I’ve noticed that there is no balloting for 2B for the past few years. But you will never know as there are parents that PV at more than 1 school in SK. As of last year, with the change in ruling, all SG kids got in without balloting at phase 2C.
