        joeymum:
        Subject banding is for p4 to p5 promotion.

        I see. Thank you!

        For P3 supplementary class, Higher Chinese and Science will be applicable to the entire level, only MA and EL are selective. There is also a distinction between supplementary class and remedial class. The students will be made known. Cheers!

          is this already implemented?

          Other schools have already in line with this subject banding.
          They will use Eng, Math, Sci. MT no need because MT itself already in the separation class since P2.

              Yes, it has been implemented a few years ago . There will be banding for all subjects, including Chinese. All banding, either standard or foundation, is base on results. You can get more information from MOE website.

                    Ya, you're right. My apology, wrote too fast without thinking. HC is only for 3A, B & C while Science is for whole level. Tks!

                      Impt Pts:

                      School most likely to be single session from term 3, P still liberating on school hours;
                      After school care most likely jan next year, with limited capacity 40-60 kiddies only.
                      Limited CCAs due to school upgrading project.
                      Subject based banding for P4;
                      Enbloc promotion from p3 to p4,ie, the kids stay in same class fr p3 to p4;
                      Homework policy of appx 3 hours per day.

                      For CCA, checked with my son's FT and was told recruitment will likely starts in July.

                      If subject banding in P4, how to enbloc promotion from P3 to 4?

                      I realised this year's homework is few times in P1 & P2...a bit overwhelming and to expect more to come, some more with supplementary classes commencing tomorrow, which will means more homework!! :yikes:

                      Hi Tim Tim, yes, the amount of homework does increase by quite a bit from P2 to P3. But no need to worry too much. The kids should be able to cope. There is usually no homework from the supplementary classes if I recall correctly - at least based on last year's experience.
