Singaporean 2 ballot slips and PRs 1 ballot slip - they showed it to parents via the overhead projector before dropping into a transparent box for drawing.
Hi, my boy is also going to NCPS next year too. I hv been very lax (ie, no enrichment & minimal supervison on his childcare work) and now starting to worry if he will be lagging behind his peers... Wonder if any parent out here can advise.
Hi all,
My girl was successful in balloting in Nan Chiau Primary yesterday.
Looking forward to meeting parents with children going to P1 in Nan Chiau Primary School here.
Just Kay Po lah, how the balloting like as previously I mentioned 204 people for 65 seats. As now Singaporean have 2 ballot slips which means is to says put in 408pcs of ballot slips. :? -
Hi everyone
Just want to share my thoughts our children who nearing the end of P1 soon. Time flies… when I recalled last year’s experience … From the enrollment, orientation, getting books and uniform. The long queue for name tags. The fuzzy memory on the school orientation, the slides that didn’t work etc…
This is a journey.
My 2nd DD is starting P1 next year. I will probably get a chance to relive the moments. Hopefully in style ha ha ha…
For all the anxious parents out there, my advise is to go with the flow. Take time to laugh with your children. -
Hi, why isn’t the school time published in NCPS website? What’s the normal time for P1 (afternoon session)? Tks.

Most impt is to do revision everyday. For EL and CL, reading is very impt. Maths, practice makee perfect

For this year, school hours are from 1pm to 6.30pm for Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri. Wed is an early day. School hours are from 12.30pm to 6.00pm. Usually students are encouraged to be in school at least 15 min before school starts for silent reading.
All these details will be given you go for the school orientation end of the year.
Hope this helps! -
Hi Parents,
Almost one year has gone by and I noticed that few textbooks, exercise books, character cards and dictionary were not used at all. All these costs money. I am wondering for those who is having sibilings to start P1 next year in NCPS, will you plan to get another new set or to use the balanced one and not purchasing from the book vendors?
Also for those parents with the balanced books/items, what are you going to do with them?

For my kid, his chinese flash card is totally untouched (i.e was asked by teacher to take to school) although he told me that his Chinese teacher taught them how to play games with it. But other than that, i believe all the text books are being used. There are a couple of exercise books and empty files which I intend to re-use for next year. Likewise for dictionary since i think that is 'ever-lasting'.Hi Parents,

My 'leftover' textbooks were the Chinese picture dictionary book (w/cd rom that one), the Chinese oral textbook for P1 & P2 level which was totally untouched though requested to purchase and the Chinese character cards. As for the dictionary, I find that its not useful at all. At least in my view, at minimum that few words in their spelling lists must have the explaination in it but there were none so I need to get him a seperate dictionary. I have 4 jotter books (lined ones) and 6 exercise books left behind. Aiyo

Anyway, I will just keep it till one day that he requires it.
Btw, anybody that needs to get your child's nametag re-done, you can forward your request to the uniform aunty. 6 pieces for S$4.50 and it will take 3 weeks to process -
Hmm...is there a Chinese picture dictionary book? Got to check again but it sounds vaguely familiar. And oh yes, the Chinese oral textbook for P1 & P2 level. Kiddo came home with the order form and I too thought the school will use it as part of curriculum. But from the looks of it, its meant for home practice

Hi mummies,
All these books, dictionary and cards that u all mentioned that were not used, i can always get them later from the book shop should the child need it later, right? Honestly if that is the case, i thought maybe not to get them 1st.
I have registered my dd at Polaris Junior next year, now thinking if i should withdraw her from CC in Nov and start her in Polaris in Dec. At least not so many changes when she starts school in Jan. Any parents with children in Polaris?
