      Hi All,

Just my personal feel. I find the kids are quite pitiful. My DS keeps saying, everyday i have to do so much of work. He can tell me that, "mummy very stressful you know " I have very little time to play. I keep telling him to endure for these 2 weeks after the SA test are over. Quite sad that their childhood is binded by so much school work, workbooks, enrichment classes, etc.

Sometime I think, if ever opportunity arises I wont mind to bring them away from this system.

I have seen some colleagues’ kids, ( foreigner not subjected to such stress ) but they are equally smart and intelligent later on years.
Has it been proven the system in this manner work for our kids ?? Sighhh

        hi angel,

To be honest, I am quite pessimistic about seeing any change to the current system. If there is any, very likely our DD or DS would have missed the boat anyway… so have to bite the bullet… just bite the bullet…

          Hi Ululu,

Even our usual PD dr also can say that these days the education system is very cruel. Told me don’t put the kids to those too premium school. They will be stressful … Let them enjoy their childhood.

I am planning if i have any training coming up overseas to those developed countries, I wont mind to bring DS over to experience some cultures there. Let him have some breathing space. I will just write a letter to PCS to excuse him couple of months.

I myself also feel stressed up … guess all parents feel the same as well.

Well, this is my personal thinking.....am so stressed with everything:(....
This school or those no SA1. However, make us and our poor kids more stressed.

As we attended last year. Teacher's only spend about 5 mins or more to talk about our precious children.
            **this is my thinking only**
(PLEASE Bring a RED COLOR FILE along with you. while attend the meet parents session) for those alrdy in primary 2. 🙂

OMG! i hv only a boy in primary 2 now. and alrdy caused me so stressful:(
Cannot think if i hv more kids.
However, in fact good to have more sibling:(.....sigh

Hi. Finally the sch holiday is here! I hope to take some breather.

What? I have to check their bags until P3/P4. I will be xiao long before my DSs reach there. So I am trying my self-invent strategy now. Hope to hear comments from you all, do u think it works? Here's my method....
Since Apr, I check my DSs bags only after they are asleep, unlike in the past where I checked immediately after dinner. I announced to them that I will not checking their bags anymore. After dinner, I asked them whether they have any homework. If yes, take them out to do. If no and found to be otherwise, they will be punished. (Wonder why they didn't ask how mummy know otherwise if didn't check their bag.) So, sometimes, there is a mad rush in the morning for unfinished work. And if still can't finish, too bad. Then I will nag at them saying \"It's your homework, not mummy's ones. If you didnt' finished, you but not mummy will be punished by the teacher\". This is good enough to scare them off esp for my 2 who don't write the handbook.

So, during the meet-parent session, I told all teachers that I am not checking their bags anymore. Punish my DSs if they have unfinished homework. One teacher (remember I hv to see 4?) asked what punishment. After discussion, we decided that my DDs will have no play during recess time i.e. stay back to finish the work. Anyway, they bring snacks to sch and can finish eating in class b4 doing the work.

I am finding all ways to train my DSs to be independent including writing the show-and-tell script. They decide their own story and write themselves. I will correct their grammer. My DS1 learnt a good lesson last week. He wrote only 2 sentences on top of the greetings and thank you. I asked him if it is correct. He said yes. We practised for 6 days. When he presented on last Wed, his teacher say no-go, too short, redo next day. Next day!!! I was all stress up but try to hide it. I was even more stressful when I see his final script at 9pm. It's such a long story! I asked him to cut down the story but he refuse. Guess the teacher comment 'too short' lingered in his mind. So for the next hour, not only he needs to practise but also got my nagging bomb on not paying attention to teacher's requirement. But I spare him the nagging next morning as I didn't want to stress him while he practise. During the meet-parent, then I found out that the duration has to be abt 30 secs! And my DS is the only one presented on Thurs. Luckily the teacher give chance.

Oh talking abt the meet-parent...the queue and crowd are worse then seeing polyclinic doctor! Terrible wait and yet no q number.

Ha, pretty good mood to tell such long story today 🙂 Hope u don't mind.
