Hi, my triplet is going to PC next yr. To share w those also going P1 next yr. A Mr Ong from PC called me two days ago (Wed) to remind me abt the orientation. He talked abt the letter but I thot is the one in Aug. I wasn’t expecting any letters from them even after the call. Thot Aug letter already mentioned 19 Nov orientation.


I do recieved one letter on Wed and 2nd one yesterday. Today public holiday, so otherwise may expect to receive 3rd today? Both letters state that my DSs’ house colour is blue and in group 2. Wld expect all my 3 be in the same house colour and group as my neighbour told me quite sometime ago that PC will put all sidlings (even of different levels) in same house colour. Ya, I am staying near PC and so most of my neighbours are either in PC or St Hilda’s.
Btw, the letter contains the booklist, some instructions on 19 Nov and a dental form.

Hi, to those parents who are in P1 now. Pls let me know if you are giving away the P1 textbooks. Otherwise, I need to buy 3 sets…burning big hole in our pocket…

Hi alphonsus and other parents whose kids are already in PCS P1 or P2

I heard homework is alot and since our kids are in PM session, does your kids have difficulties completing their homework before going to bed at night? DS is having some enrichment classes in the evening currently, am wondering if I should reschedule them to weekends only next year so that he has time to do his homework on weekdays evenings.

Anyone’s kids are currently in student care or going to student care next year? Which student care is your child at / going to?

Do you know there is a student care at blk 703 near PC, called Sherwin?

842B is quite a walking distance from PC right? The student care will fetch your child to and fro?

By the way, can anyone advise how many sets of PE attires and uniforms should we buy? On days when there is PE, can the kids wear the PE attire for the entire day? I would guess PE is around twice a week so left 3 days for proper school uniforms?

For my boy's P1 class, homework is manageable, not alots. I am unsure if all classes are like that though. Typically he will get homeworks about 1-3 days a week. His homework can be just 1-2 pages of math worksheet. Parent to go thru Chinese/English wordings with kid to ensure they know and signed back. Some English/Chinese worksheet/writing, learning spelling... My boy usually spent less than 1hr(most of the times he spent less than half-an-hr). He has enrichment class on weekday too, but so far dun remembered he had to stay late to complete his homework.

My personal feel is your kid should know HanYuPinYin and phonic(sound discrimination are tested) before P1 as the school teaches these very fast and kids are expected to know by term1/2.

If you notice, there are no English book in your booklist. PCS adopts Stellar. Students learn english through big story books.

You will need to know your kid's assigned house color, in order to buy the PE T-shirt(Yellow house means buy yellow PE T-Shirt). I understand all siblings will be assigned the same house color based on feedback I heard from boy's schoolmates.

So sorry nonkiasu, my boy refuses to give away his books(although the books are already in bad shape), I can't help on this.
