Hi gajidouma
Didn’t know Kumon conducts Chinese classes too, do they also give alot of worksheets to do at home similar to their Maths classes?
Personally, I would prefer SC versus a maid. Like cpdalin mentioned, its really about getting our kids to be independant.
Can you share why you don’t prefer SW?
Hi alphonsus
Thanks for sharing there are optional enrichment programs for PCS! I didn’t know there are such programs. Are these conducted in PCS? Only thing is, the scheduled dates do not seem to be regular (like 1x a week), only selective dates. And, based on the timings on weekdays, it will probably mean our kid need to buy their own lunch from canteen to eat before school starts in the afternoon? Not sure if it will be very tiring hor …
Is everyone buying books and uniforms at PCS tomorrow morning?
Pacific Bookstore has uploaded the book list but I noticed one of the books is missing - Moral Education (CL). For those who intend to order online, please take note! -

The optional enrichment lessons are conducted in PCS. Timing is a problem for me(yes, some lesson requires kid to eat in canteen after lesson before school), so I did not enrol any for my boy.Hi gajidouma

I've noticed 2011 P1 booklist is slightly different from last year. Addition of creative writing, my word bank books...
Please note that Chinese Yun Yu textbooks and workbooks are also unavailable from Pacific online, can only be purchased from PCS general office.
I am still waiting for PCS to give us the P2 booklist. -
Hi alphonsus
I thought I saw the schedule for buying uniforms in PCS website but it seems to have disappeared. I believe there will be more than one day (tmrw) to buy uniforms right? Coz DS won’t be able to follow me to PCS tmrw to buy the uniforms, am thinking if I want to buy all during orientation day in case I don’t get his size correct.
Is the sale of school uniforms only available once a year? -

Yes, all worksheets, lots of writing practice. But I think it is good in training her motor skill. I do not fancy SW mainly due to its physical premises, crammed, poor ventilation, thus the smell.. but most important they only open till 7pm only... I can't make it. In the end need to make another arrangement to engage someone to pick dd up. After totaling all $$ up, I might as well get a maid.... but then again, this may create new problems.. so I am still weighing these two options... and time is running out... :stupid:Hi gajidouma

[/quote]Not very sure if they allow P1 to join. Think CCA starts when students are in P3. P1 & P2 normally go through modCCA where they get to learn each CCA during modCCA/modPE lessons. Maybe you can ask the principle during orientation.
