How come all your velcro shoes can last so long? My DS used up one pair per semester (half year per pair). So I have no choice but to buy the laced up shoes. Thinking of going to that shoe shop at AMK Central (near POSB) to buy the shoes. They have a wider variety and cheaper than Bata!

Mine still ok - usable condition - but now prob gonna be kept in the cupboard till ds2 use or donated to salvation army!

Wow. So scary ah. Where are the other 2 stores? Clementi is far from where I'm staying though it's quite near to where I'm working.

The store asst mentioned Compass Point, Upper Changi n Clementi.

Clementi store still had 3 more pairs of size 2 (when i asked yesterday). The one that i bot is 2 for $49 or 1 for $29.95 -- so i think most parents just bot 2!!

School shoes are a popular commodity!!

Hi, I am new to this group, and my boy is from 1F. Interesting to see quite a number of 1F parents around…I was looking through the checklist and I am getting stressed over what kind of personal admin folder to get him already! Any experienced parents out there who can recommend the type of folder to get for a P1 boy?

Think we can forget abt the AMK central shop. I just went and they don’t have laced up shoes for kids this young. Dunno why Maris Stella wants to make our boys wear laces so young when other schools can continue with velcro?? So hard to find shoes with laces this small… guess must spend big money on Reebok or Adidas white shoes if Bata has no stock.

P2 boys can still wear their existing P1 velcro shoes until they grow out of it. But I think most are quite proud to wear laced shoes once they are on it to disassociate themselves from the "junior".
